The Systems Software Developer 1 provides support, maintains and enhances existing business applications. Should be knowledgeable in at least one programming language. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving technical problems and issues with software and work processes.
Provides support, maintains and enhances existing business applications (coding, testing, debugging).
Develops, documents and executes unit test cases.
Delivers quality and timely results.
Identifies and resolves technical problems and issues with software and work processes; escalates problems beyond level of expertise to manager or more experienced technical staff.
Recommends improvements to existing processes or proposes new ones, to improve the quality of project deliverables.
Performs duties within standardized practices, where applicable.
Assumes accountability to fulfill assigned areas of responsibility.
Complies with and supports all corporate, department and team policies and procedures.
Keeps manager, project teams and business customers informed of activities and problems within assigned areas of responsibility; refers matters beyond limits of authority and capabilities to manager for direction.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree, equivalent work experience or appropriate technical certification.
Knowledge of at least one programming language.
Ability to code, unit test and debug simple business applications (with guidance). Understanding of related disciplines.
Understanding of the software development life cycle.
Able to work under direction, independently and in a team setting. Able to work effectively with customers and IS leadership.
Ability to gather and analyze facts and data, draw correct inferences from the information and recommend appropriate solutions to problems.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to organize information and communicate clearly and concisely.
