Overview: Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, testing and implement our secure operating systems, networks, and security monitoring and tuning to ensure the protection of sensitive data and mitigate cybersecurity risks.Clearance Requirements: An active Secret clearance is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.Responsibilities:

Design and implement security measures to safeguard systems, networks, and infrastructure against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Managing IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions
Conduct risk and vulnerabilities assessment.
Develop and implement security controls.
Research, evaluate and recommend new security tools and techniques.
Design and implement security measures to safeguard systems, networks, and infrastructure against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Managing IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions
Conduct risk and vulnerabilities assessment.
Develop and implement security controls.
Research, evaluate and recommend new security tools and techniques.
Administer, maintain, implement upgrades, and ensure the readiness of several classified virtual enterprise systems and corresponding technologies (VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, Windows Domain).
Provide security engineering and development support throughout the system life cycle.
Perform appropriate continuous monitoring and systems security testing using tools such as ACAS/Nessus.
Provide mitigation solutions for identified findings and patching requirements.
Ensure that proposed system changes are reviewed and that implemented system modifications do not adversely impact the security of the system.
Ensure that authorization/re-authorization support documentation is developed and maintained in conformance with applicable standards.
Monitor the client’s progress towards completion of POA&Ms.
Ensure that IS users’ activities are monitored and are following security policies and procedures.
Assist corporate security and program/project staff to create, implement, and maintain procedural documents and operations (configuration management, continuous monitoring, business continuity, disaster recovery, etc.).

Technical Areas of Expertise:

Performing enterprise software installations and upgrades.
RMF, NIST, and NISPOM requirements, configurations, settings, and documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 8+ years of relevant experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

Preferred Certifications:

ISSM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification
ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification
ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification
MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification
