The Systems Safety Software Engineer will support the development and integration safety for Army Munitions Power Control Modules and other safety critical component modifications involving both complex hardware and software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System and Software Safety Program Plans.

  • Functional Hazard Analyses.

  • Requirements Hazard Analyses.

  • Subsystem and Software Hazard Analyses.

  • Fault Tree Analyses.

  • Software Safety Compliance Matrix Tracking.

  • Safety Engineering Status Briefing Material to support Program Milestone Reviews, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Safety Review Boards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Serve as the Point of Contact (POC) during reviews.

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.

  • Requires a Secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, or a related STEM field.

  • This position requires 5+ years of recent and related experience.

  • Experience across the program development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, and sustainment).

  • Must possess demonstrable experience in the identification and documentation of system and component level design safety risks, hazard controls, and acceptance/approval of verification/validation results.

DESIRED:

  • Experience with DOD Programs and Projects

  • Prior experience in the use of software analytical and test tools.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

  • This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • All of Bastion's employees must be team players.

  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.

  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.

  • Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.

  • Must be organized with good time management skills.

  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
