General Summary

Supports Software Engineering and Development activities for Army Aviation and Missile programs at the US Army CCDC Aviation and Missile, Systems, Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate. Develops and assists in implementation of quality programs for hardware, software, and service products. Responsible for developing and applying advanced techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Responsible for developing and applying advanced techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems *

  • Performs advanced technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives

  • Analyzes and resolves difficult and complicated program support deficiencies *

  • Guide configuration, debugging, and support for software programs and ensures all quality and change control standards are met

  • Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects *

  • Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

  • Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management *

  • May evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as systems engineering, electrical engineering or software engineering. Masters preferred.

  • Minimum of 10-15 years related experience

  • Active DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rigorous understanding of software engineering and or development processes.

  • Configuration Management support experience.

  • Experience auditing software development processes and standards.

  • Experience providing technical support to software intensive Aviation and/or Missile programs

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer/ Sr. Principal Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer. This position is for our Huntsville, Alabama location, and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Engineer, Quality Assurance - The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the development of documentation that implements the GBSD Enterprise and Program Supplier Quality Assurance Plan, policies, procedures, & tools required to support Program pre-award & Day1 Tasks as well as infrastructure needs. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for QA oversight activities for hardware developed/manufactured/assembled/tested for GBSD at the Huntsville site(s) and subcontractors.
