Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of SQA or System Test experience, preferably on consumer-facing hardware/software products.

  • Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, such as test planning, scheduling, and regression.

  • Experience being responsible for a complete functional area of a product or application

  • Experience working with partners across different teams and organizations to clearly communicate status and raise critical issues.

  • Ability to think analytically, reduce data sets, problem-solve, and innovate.

  • Ability to solve difficult problems with innovative and maintainable solutions


  • Build, modify, and execute tests for validation of hardware and software features at the system level (the whole, integrated product).
  • Design and execute integrated system/scenario tests (including ad-hoc and interoperability).

  • Write test plans and other test documentation.

  • Work cross-functionally with other QA teams, developers, and project managers.

  • Report test, project, and innovation status regularly.

  • Be a vocal proponent for quality, both internally and externally.

Education & Experience

  • BS in CS, CE, EE, or related.

Additional Requirements

    • Experience developing and executing testing using computer vision and machine learning.
    • Experience with data analysis tools (MATLAB, LabVIEW or similar)

VIEW JOBS 3/29/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-27T00:00 Systems Analyst V Under the general supervision of the QA Branch Manager in the Public Health (DSHS) Applications Division of HHS IT, System Analyst V will be responsible for development and implementation of Software Quality Assurance best practices and methodologies, definition of Test Strategy and Test Plans, development and maintenance of Automated Test scripts, tracking and reporting Test metrics. This individual may also plan, assign and review the work of others; works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is responsible for providing daily coordination of Quality Assurance tasks, back-end and front-end testing of standard and rich-media banners, websites and other functionality as required. Successful Candidate provides guidance to project team members in order to maintain the highest level of quality in our deliverables, trains and mentors others as needed. This position shares responsibility for building and maintaining internal lines of communication with vendors and customers. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. EJF1: Takes ownership of Quality in deliverables considering customer requirements, actively participates and leads QA team in the development of Master Test Plans, Test Approaches, Test Schedules and Test cases to accomplish application testing, systems testing and functional testing, coordinates user acceptance testing. Clearly communicates quality risks and suggests risk mitigation strategies. Attends test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding adherence to technical standards and customer requirements. Develops processes to ensure the highest level of quality assurance possible (45%) EJF2: Develops Automation test scripts as required and maintains existing scripts (20%). EJF3: Communicates effectively with agency subject matter experts and support staff to support their testing requirements for cross agency business systems, Coordinates Test Execution Cycles, daily stand-ups and defect triages to prioritize and meet Project schedules, designs and verifies test data. Proactively documents and facilitates communication and troubleshooting of issues, defects and changes while promoting adherence to sound development standards and solutions with minimal supervisor assistance (20%). EJF4: Mentors QA team members and shares expertise. Assists in the development of on-going training programs for the QA Team (5%). EJF5: Pursues/participates in continuing education opportunities to enhance both technical and interpersonal skills (5%). EJF6: Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to Accessibility testing, Performance Testing, Administration of Tools, Requirements Review, Reporting (5%). Knowledge Skills Abilities: In-depth Knowledge of project development methodologies, principles and practices.
