You'll partner closely with the hardware teams as we develop the next generation of devices that seem almost magical. You'll also work with software engineering on planning for the next set of features that will take our products to the next level.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years of SQA or System Test experience, preferably on consumer-facing hardware/software products.

  • Understanding of applied mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, matrix computations, 3D geometry)

  • Deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies, such as test planning, scheduling, and regression.

  • Experience being responsible for a complete functional area of a product or application

  • Experience working with partners across different teams and organizations to clearly communicate status and raise critical issues.

  • Ability to think analytically, reduce data sets, problem-solve, and innovate.

  • Ability to solve difficult problems with innovative and maintainable solutions

Description

  • Build, modify, and execute tests for validation of hardware and software features at the system level (the whole, integrated product).
  • Design and execute integrated system/scenario tests (including ad-hoc and interoperability).

  • Write test plans and other test documentation.

  • Work cross-functionally with other QA teams, developers, and project managers.

  • Report test, project, and innovation status regularly.

  • Be a vocal proponent for quality, both internally and externally.

Education & Experience

  • BS in CS, CE, EE, or related.

As an Audio Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for consumers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will ensure solid stability and good audio performance on novel consumer electronic devices, working with firmware engineers, SW quality assurance engineers, audio DSP engineers and hardware engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end testing of the full audio signal chain of our device, and of audio components or sub-systems separately. You will also be responsible for continuous development of methods and environments by developing, implementing, validating, and automating tests. * Plan tests, set up test systems, and run tests in audio lab * Write audio testing automation scripts * Agree on acceptance criteria based on the business requirement documentation (BRD) with product and engineering teams * Run design validation tests for each hardware build and regression test audio features for each SW/FW release. * Analyze results, present findings, file bugs for tracking issues, and participate in root cause analysis * Understanding of audio hardware including microphones, speakers, and amplifiers * Experience with audio measurement tools and test environments * Basic knowledge of Python or equivalent scripting language * Basic understanding of audio features including speech recognition, communication audio, Wake-on-voice, Acoustic echo cancellation, and acoustic beamforming * Experience in creating tests and test frameworks specific to audio * Experience with audio testing tools, for example: Audio Precision, Listen Soundcheck, Head Acoustics ACQUA * Knowledge to issue tracking software and version control tools such as JIRA, Git, and Gerrit * Good analytical and problem-solving skills for advanced debugging * Understanding parameters impacting perception of sound for speech, music playback, and spatial audio * Excel in a fast-paced, agile environment supporting multiple projects using a wide variety of technologies * Excellent oral and written communication skills including effective presentation * Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role * Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
