JOB DESCRIPTION: The Project Manager will work under the Project Director to manage projects as assigned. It is the Project Managers responsibility to supports sales with projects in development as needed by offering technical design assistance, reviewing drawings, and offering input for estimating resources required for the labor portion of the job.
Job Duties:

Assess existing systems on site for upgrade / repair needs

Set up and execute equipment demos for clients

Initiate a discovery phase to gather all available data, drawings and specifications on the project and acquire additional information to properly design, procure and install

Create a detailed work plan which identifies resources and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project; review the schedule with senior management and other staff that will be affected; revise the schedule as required

Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

Execute a site visit to verify field measurements, confirm existing equipment, and evaluate wiring or other project requirements

Coordinate design and drawing requirements, work with internal resources to provide submittals per the project schedule

Select staff and/or contract consultants with appropriate skills for the project activities

Supervise and coordinate installation crews and sub-contractors provided per the established policies and practices of the organization

Request POs, manage approvals and follow up on payments for outside resources

Update stakeholders, management, project team members and client on the progress of the project

Request POs and release materials per the project plan; create out contracts as needed

RMA processing as required

Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures per established accounting policies and procedures, report variance to senior management on a regular basis

Ensure that Project Technicians are issuing Daily Site Reports

Comply with all safety requirements of the company and the clients site

Oversee the programming and configuration of all system equipment per specifications

Oversee the check-in and prep all incoming materials and equipment per the BOM and system design documentation

Complete final punch list items, oversee final systems checks, ensure a final handover, and issue a final Warranty letter to the client

Organize client training per the contract

Evaluate and report to management on the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Salary Range and Bonus Potential:
$ 85K-95K per year

Job Requirements:

Control System installation management experience in either AV or Lighting.

Understanding of Entertainment or Architectural lighting.

Construction management with regards to Electrical installation.
3 years project planning and/or management experience in the construction or entertainment field

Solid knowledge of electricity and electronics

In depth knowledge of DMX, SACN, RDM and manufacturer specific lighting networking protocols

Ability to read and interpret system drawings, electrical schematics, architectural plans and lighting plots

ETC Certified commissioning technician preferred

OSHA 10 certification preferred

ETCP Electricians Certification preferred

Excellent computer skills and familiarity with applicable hardware and software

Hold and maintain a valid Drivers License

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.


Bachelors degree in Technical Theatre or a similar field (or equivalent professional experience)

CTS' research and tools helps school systems, government leaders and community members re-imagine the ways in which they can raise academic achievement by getting students more motivated and involved in learning, building on their strengths and the cultural resources of their families, and using education as a means to break cycles of poverty. Working In conjunction with Orange and Butte counties, UCLA's Center for the Transformation of Schools is leading a state pilot and network aimed at reducing suspensions through a training curriculum based on a multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) model. MTSS is an approach being utilized in school districts throughout the country and in California that addresses learning and behavioral needs through a variety of non-punitive, educational interventions. The MTSS Project Director is responsible for developing, managing and executing the project. Reporting to the Center Director, the Project Director will act as the primary point of contact for the Center with Orange and Butte counties, including their senior leadership team and the California Department of Education as the other lead entities involved in the effort. This new state pilot is part of a five year collaborative (2018-2013) with CTS at UCLA, Orange and Butte County. The Director will develop and facilitate the design and structure of a statewide training model that will be utilized by educators and school's system leaders across all thousand California districts. The Project will support an iterative design process that will include convening a statewide design team of experts: students, educators, administrators, school counselors, school psychologists, state associations, and scholars to explore innovative student engagement, support and positive discipline approaches. The Director will work closely with the Center director to support research for MTSS that will advance the implementation of the pilot program. This includes establishing the research agenda, identifying related research projects, product development, disseminating activities, and cultivating relationship with scholarly, practitioner, and/or policy experts in order to promote the MTSS model. The Project Director will also be responsible for facilitating weekly meetings with Orange and Butte County, meetings with Center staff working on the MTSS pilot and periodic reporting to the state and foundation partners. The Project Director will also co-develop benchmarks and develop tools for measuring progress for the initiative and its five phases: engagement, design, preparation, piloting and documentation. During each of these phases the Project Director will engage with various professional organizations, state agencies, school sites and districts, community and civil rights groups, researchers, and youth to shape the goals and strategies for MTSS. The Director will identify key members for the state design team; identify districts that have promising patterns in school discipline data and will identify those that need support; and identify educations and system leaders who can act as mentors and/or participate in training to make each phase of MTSS successful.
