About the role:

As a Systems Programmer II you will review, analyze, develop, install, modify, maintain and/or support major subsystem software components in a large computing environment across multiple production data centers. Performs FIS Profile/GT.M operational certifications; technology assessments for our supported infrastructure stack; performs FIS Profile/Operating Systems level scripting1 and provides general technical/operational expertise for other departments within the FIS organization. The position will also support client requests of an operational nature which includes general application troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, critical production support, and possibly automation/utility development.

What you will be doing:

• Supports internal FIS Profile/GT.M database deployment tasks/assessments, certification projects, and resolves problems as they arise.

• Is responsible for development, primarily in the form of utilities, shell scripts and general Operating system support for the FIS Profile/GT.M product.

• Helps clients design and implement operational procedures and automation utilities as needed.

• Helps document installation procedures for FIS products on our supported technology platforms which will be distributed to our clients.

• Analyzes and resolves problems related to failures in operating system and ancillary software components.

• Provides technical assistance to programming staff in analyzing application software amends, performance and resource consumption.

• Creates and maintains complete documentation as it relates to installation and status of software.

• 24x7 support for operating systems and ancillary software.

• Educates internal users on software capabilities and use.

• Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you will need:

• Some programming experience in C/C++ or another modern programming language, or UNIX shell scripting (ksh)

• Some working knowledge of the following Operating Systems: Linux, AIX is a plus

• Prior exposure to a DBMS will be a plus: Oracle or another database engine

• Knowledge of Intel x86, IBM POWER or cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/Azure) will be a plus

• Demonstrated (1-2 years) analytical skills/experience: the ability to collect and analyze information, technical writing/communication, problem-solving, and make decisions

• Prior experience (1-2 years) with multi-platform software application deployment, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting

• A bachelor's in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $64,160.00 - $104,570.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
