Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Information Technology-Systems Programmer Developer II will work closely with other team members to provide administrative enterprise resource planning support of Ellucian Colleague and its configurations, installation, maintenance, and integration of other supporting applications used for day-to-day operations. Responsibilities to include user administration, application development, software upgrades, general maintenance, backups, employee training, documentation, security, and overall support.

This position helps manage multiple college initiatives ensuring effective use of delivered functionality, data analysis, reporting, and providing solutions to enhance processes. Supports all client SQL databases related to Ellucian applications: Colleague, portal, self-service, data extracts, patches and upgrades, and CRM based products.

Job Functions:

• Serves as Colleague System Administrator, working closely with Director of Enterprise Applications and IT staff to optimize system performance through monitoring Colleague System and providing cross-functional business support.

• Provides end-to-end technical support and problem resolution, manage vendor action line and escalations for software support. Exhibit a customer-focused attitude towards students, faculty and staff at all times. Plans, test and implement system and business applications, working closely with IT staff and end users in developing and implementing in house applications and reports as specified.

• Maintain system and application integrity through proper monitoring and back-up/recovery procedures, planning and implementation of FDTC's security policies related to computing resources. Support, develop, and configure the college's 3rd party systems and integrations with the primary ERP system such as Advise, Recruit, Watermark, Lumens, Office 365, etc.

• Maintains user accounts; create/modify accounts and assign security levels. Conducts account audits on a periodic basis.

• Collaborates with the Director of Institutional Research and Accreditation to extract, correct and submit CERS opening and ending data each semester. Create custom reports, SQL stored procedures and write custom code, if needed.

• Assists and documents business processes for departments related to the successful use of Colleague. Research of new features, testing of software patches and updates, end user training on new features.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The minimum as listed. In addition, the employee must be able to design, write, modify, and test user reports; have an extensive knowledge of programming, database design, and operating systems concept.

Maintain, modify, and install programming applications used for student records. The employee must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively interact with faculty, staff, and administrators; serve as a key programming interface with the college end users.

Must be able to participate in a team-oriented environment and exhibit a strong sense of commitment to customer service when dealing with students, faculty, and staff. Overnight travel may be required for training.
