What you'll be doing...

Customers expect our networks to perform at a high level all the time. That's where you come in. You will investigate, evaluate and resolve network performance issues to ensure optimal and reliable service for our customers. The work you'll be doing will directly impact customer satisfaction and help keep us ahead of the competition.

  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints regarding service.

  • Integrating new cell sites, small cells, and DAS systems into existing macro network.

  • Partnering with RF in evaluation and design of current and future network.

  • Performing VoLTE testing and analyses of relevant key performance indicators.

  • Optimizing LTE and RAN networks using traditional and innovative means.

  • RAN optimization assistance to HQ service performance activity for Samsung RAN as it relates to feature review of current and upcoming releases for 4G. Helping HQ and regional teams to optimize new vendor software loads and features.

  • Collaborating with SON teams for inclusion of best optimization practices for Samsung RAN.

  • Collaborating with Maintenance Engineering and local network teams/operations to facilitate FOA, review of validation test plans and test results, test feature interactions with legacy devices and determine feature readiness/worthiness for GA.

  • Ensuring LTE network maintains performance superiority and reliability and meets company KPIs.

  • Interacting with Device Technology, Network Planning and RAN vendors to provide feedback on feature definitions, RAN and device roadmap.

Collaborating with Device Performance Team, Territories and Market System Performance on device issues and performance optimization trials.

What we're looking for...

You have a strong customer service orientation. You like to take ownership of an issue and resolve it successfully. You are able to understand and evaluate a complex problem and present solutions. You work well independently as well as effectively with diverse business teams and vendors to implement solutions.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.

  • Knowledge of LTE including VoLTE and RAN networks.

  • Willingness to travel upto approximately 25% of the time.

  • A valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Two more years of relevant work experience.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge in any one data analysis/collection tool such as ALPT/ELPT, RTT, Irisview, Datapro and TEMS.

  • Working knowledge of data analysis/post-processing tools such as Irisview, Windcatcher/Actix/TEMS Discovery.

  • Knowledge of propagation and optimization modeling tools such as Atoll, Geoplan.

  • Knowledge of analysis tools such as Tableau, excel and presentation software PowerPoint, Word.

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python, Unix, scripting tools.

  • Knowledge of mapping software such as MapInfo, Google Earth.

  • Knowledge of Nokia/fALU systems including SAM and 3GPP LTE standards.

  • Ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN and CORE related problems.

  • Knowledge of IMS and systems engineering aspects related to RAN and proficiency in Core level call flow analysis.

You will provide design input, implementation and infrastructure support for Cisco UCCE (Cisco ICM, Cisco CVP and Cisco Unified Communications Manager) in a 24X7 enterprise call center environment. This includes hardware and software life cycle management, server implementation and maintenance, application level support and documentation of the supported environment. * Engage with peers in other Verizon Business Units to establish corporate standards, applications and best practices to bring together technology roadmap and drive consolidation of Contact Center technologies. * Works effectively within the team to complete assigned moves, adds and changes within approved change windows. * Lead assigned project teams and produces high quality deliverables in a timely fashion. * Provide expert level support for the Operations team and quickly respond to outages to minimize downtime to customer impacting, mission critical systems. * Proactively communicate status reports and issues to management. * Successfully complete all relevant general and technical training programs in accordance with Performance Agreement goals and objectives. * ICM/UCCE/IPACD * Develop scalable UCCE architecture to meet the requirements of Verizon and allow for future growth. * Collaborate on the design and manage three instances of Cisco Unified Call Center Enterprise and Cisco Voice Portal and the hardware that hosts the application. * Develop an application roadmap and translate that into a LOE and resource requirements to complete the assigned projects on time. * Develop procedures for upgrading systems such as Cisco UCCE and ICM to ensure there is no impact to our end users. * Develop these procedures, test in the lab environment and translate to production rollout. * Ongoing evaluation of new technologies and cloud based offerings that will keep the infrastructure relevant and reduce cost of operation. * Present technology roadmap and ongoing project status to Executive Management as required * Planning and design of Unified Communications Cisco UCS server platform deployed in several Data Centers, including sizing, configuration standards, deployment methods and procedures and tech refresh cycles. * Standards and practices * Lead Security Efforts/Audits to ensure compliance with current IT Security best practices. * Work with Cisco, Optanix (formerly ShoreGroup) and internal resources to ensure that the latest standards and vendor best practices are implemented in our environment. * Develop new and update established systems standards and procedures. * Conduct audits and tracks compliance to our standards. * Create and update these standards to minimize work or potential impact to our end users. * Implement these methods and procedures as a standard with the team, to enable acceptance of these standards as practice and used to measure success for the team. * Lead peers/teammates * Ensures that the team has a well-rounded understanding of the VZ UC infrastructure by providing mentoring and training opportunities. * Ensures that we avoid any areas where we are single threaded in our support and train team members as they transition from support of retired technologies * Server Virtualization and Automation * Drive new technology and automation into our MOPs to ensure quality, reduce change error rates and increase availability. * Ultimately drive cost from the business by the physical servers required to house the applications we support and reduces downtime for our end users. * Develop processes to support over 1000 virtual servers supported by the team to reduce risk and downtime, and standardize deployments. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience.
