The Systems Manager for International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) serves as a member of the leadership team and reports to the Associate Director for ISSS. This position shares in the comprehensive development and management of ISSS and supports the mission of Student Success and The New School.
The Manager oversees and manages all aspects of ISSS systems and compliance reporting, including international student case management (Sunapsis), compliance with U.S. Federal immigration regulations, Student Exchange and Visitor Information System (SEVIS) reporting, and international student I-20/DS-2019 applications.
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as a dotted line member of the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) leadership team and assist in the development, implementation, support, and assessment of the ISSS mission.
Ensure (build, maintain, troubleshoot, etc.) the office application software system to be optimized for services to students, support advisors, and interface with other campus databases.
Manages, designs, and creates secure batching of data from Sunapsis to SEVIS system, as well as data feeds from the student information system (Banner).
Provides business functional expertise for using office application software system to process student, scholar, and department requests for ISSS services.
Oversees creation and maintenance of Sunapsis web forms (eForms), alerts and checklists to efficiently gather needed information essential for providing ISSS services.
Work with ISSS advisors who serve in a support capacity for the office application software system.
Work with University partners to develop web-based services and database technology to enhance I-20 and DS-2019 form processing, internal communication, systems upgrades, and testing, and overall efficiency in ISSS advising and processing.
Provide daily technical and production support, monitor updates, and upgrades, identify critical issues, liaising as needed with vendors, and working with ISSS staff to ensure compliance with data entry protocols.
Oversee all tasks related to the efficient and accurate transfer of data between SEVIS, Banner, Sunapsis, and other University-wide systems as necessary.
Represents the University as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the University's J-1 Exchange Visitor Program for international students and scholars.
Manages and analyzes data from office application software system to track overall international student success.
Responsible for keeping abreast of federal immigration regulations and contributing to department policy regarding these regulations.
Onboard new employees and provide training on the relevant systems and databases.
Serve on campus committees related to technology, international students and, Sunapsis or other ISSS data issues at the discretion of the Associate Director.
Other duties as assigned.
