Requirements

  • 3+ years of meaningful individual contributor experience in a cross-disciplinary engineering role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • Knowledge of professional engineering practices in robotics, automation, or related field
  • Excellent systemic problem solving and triaging skills
  • Experience building complex reliable systems and working in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in a programming language (C++ Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment that is constantly changing

Preferred

  • Experience with wire harnesses design and component selection
  • Experience with electrical test equipment
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python)

INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (DRAGON SPACECRAFT) Integration and Test engineers are responsible for understanding every system on the Dragon spacecraft and how they are interconnected. Engineers on this team must have working knowledge of overall vehicle design, schematics, operations, manufacturing, testing, and flight. The ultimate goal of the Integration and Test team is to ensure that the Dragon spacecraft interfaces successfully with the International Space Station, which is vital to the on-board astronaut crew and their missions. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design high-level vehicle assembly architecture * Manage vehicle integration build flow and test operations * Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration * Interface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation * Develop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned * Enable day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flow * Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering * 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (internship/co-op experience qualifies) PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Master's degree in an engineering discipline * Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical and/or structural systems * Documentation and configuration management experience * Experience writing test plans, procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale * Experience in a production environment * Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, comfort with ambiguity ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 5% * Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral * Intermittently able to work longer hours and weekends to support critical needs * This position is very hands-on and requires one to be on their feet for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time * Will often work side by side with our technicians and will sometimes require working in tight areas with little room ITAR REQUIREMENTS: * To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
