SMX is seeking a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to support USINDOPACOM J6 Kernos deployment and integration of collaboration applications. This position is onsite Camp H.M. Smith Marine Corps Base and Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam in Hawaii.
The day-to-day activities will likely be a hybrid between remote and on-site in Hawaii, however the customer's need will determine what is required and is subject to change, depending on circumstance and project activities.
This position requires a DoD secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical analyses by creating system use cases and identifying required user enhancement and bug fixes for the Kernos architecture and associated product networks
Provide technical assistance in support of project demos and collaboration with external agencies/project stakeholders
Assist Systems Administrators with troubleshooting and repair of Kernos outages for on-premises and cloud-based Kernos applications deployed in support of INDOPACOM Mission Network (IMN) consumers
Identify system use milestones and develop backlogs of development activities in the form of Agile capabilities and features
Participate in Kernos and Cloud Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation activities as Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Establish effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Work with customer and partners to problem-solve and facilitate issues and situations
Provide end user training as required, including on-site at INDOPACOM exercises
Collect and track system performance and functional deficiencies through testing activities and user feedback
Develop engineering artifacts to ensure identified deficiencies are incorporated in factory development efforts and scheduled for deployment in system updates
Conduct Kernos system testing in support of IMN maturation
Required Skills & Experience
Active SECRET clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI
BA/BS in Engineering, or a related technical field
CompTIA Security+ (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Associate degree and additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's
Minimum of 2-5 years of systems engineering or technician experience
Ability to complete tasks within required timeframes with little to no supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in multi-disciplined engineering development environments including cross-organizational workflows
Willingness to travel (up to 30%), to include internationally (passport required)
Desired Skill & Experience
Experience with C5ISR systems or other advanced Gov't mission systems
Experience with Linux or Unix command line execution
Experience managing and integration Cloud-Based applications with on-premises applications
Experience with Python or other scripting languages
Experience with USINDOPACOM
Intra-agency or joint command experience
