Systems Engineer/Team Lead (E30-2024-20992)

Bowhead seeks a DoD SECRET cleared Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), E Department. The position is fully funded. The Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments. The E30 Gun Weapon Systems contract supports the Littoral Combat Ship Gun Mission Module (LCS GMM) and MK134 Console development and sustainment taskings. The position has been designated a Team Lead.

Responsibilities

• Applying engineering principles and techniques in the development of quality assurance evaluations and tests on weapons systems and related component systems

• Creating schedules and work estimates to determine the feasibility of a project based on the analysis of collected data

• Hands on experience with Navy shipboard operations is essential for end user product development.

• Analyzing reports, drawings, blueprints, and test documentation related to LCS GMM and MK38 gun system

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline

• Six (6) years professional technical experience which includes four (4) years specialized experience that includes performing systems requirements management, systems engineering design and integration, and mechanical systems engineering processes

• As a Team Lead position, prior supervisory experience is required

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. MS Project is a plus

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
