The A&TN Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager based out of Rancho Carmel, CA.

This manager will be overseeing a team of system integration and test engineers and reports to the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test (SEIT) manager for the A&TN Engineering organization.

What You'll Get to Do

This manager will provide guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary.

Also, the manager is responsible for periodic review and update of systems integration and test process documents and support of AS9100 and CMMI audits. Manager defines systems integration and test operating objectives for the operating unit in order to meet organizational objectives and schedules. The A&TN I&T Manager is also responsible for defining operating unit processes and policies based on Northrop Grumman policies.

The qualified candidate will provide significant support to programs and/or proposals. This will include but is not limited to systems integration and test efforts such as estimating, planning, risk management, managing cost and schedule (EVMS) and quality on large programs to meet contract commitments. Candidate must have excellent written and communication skills and be able to work independently and within groups.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BSEE or other STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, and significant direct experience in the field of Systems Engineering, System Integration and Test as well as program management.

  • Advanced level of understanding of systems integration and test.

  • Knowledge of engineering process, and must be proficient in process development as well as functional organization aspects.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters

  • Working knowledge of the integration and test disciplines

  • Familiarity with the other Engineering disciplines

  • Knowledge of real-time embedded communication systems

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Candidate should have hands on experience with DoD Communications Systems

  • Candidate should have direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership (IPT lead).

  • Candidate should have background with EVMS and CAM responsibility.

  • DOD Secret and SAR highly preferred

  • Knowledge of F-35 and F-22 communications systems and associated waveforms

  • Experience or knowledge of JCREW programs and devices.

What You'll get to Do: As part of Northrop Grumman's business focus area on Communications, we provide world-class communications with a range of capabilities spanning from quick reaction/urgent need programs to complex communication integration efforts. Our BACN (Battlefield Airborne Communications Node) program is the leading supplier of airborne networks, providing flexible content delivery solutions for C2, ISR and disaster relief customers worldwide. Primary responsibilities, for this job include: providing Leadership and Management Oversight to a team of Professional Logisticians, as well as supporting the BACN Program and resolving Logistics issues as they arise.
