Job Description: Bose Corporation is a leading innovator in the field of automotive sound management systems and is successfully extending their market leadership in these areas.

Bose seeks a Systems Engineering Manager to join and guide this new team in a dynamic & fast growing automotive business. The Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team dedicated to creating and deploying innovative technologies that will enable future generations of Bose Automotive Audio delivery. The products and developments include a wide range of technologies ranging from entertainment audio to cabin sound management as well as a range of deployment methodologies.

The team works cross-functionally with hardware, software, & algorithm developers in specifying and designing solutions including but not limited to embedded and laptop-based solutions. The ideal candidate should be an experienced manager who has been responsible for effective personnel management as well as technical support. The candidate should also have solid experience with overall systems engineering tasks as well as estimation and scheduling.

Systems Engineers perform duties like coordinating system development tasks, requirements gathering and analysis, analyzing solutions feasibility, handling documentation, and ensuring efficient execution. Ideal candidate has engineering expertise, analytical thinking from a systems perspective, attention to details, teamwork, someone who understands engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, acoustics and software engineering along with demonstrable experience with embedded software systems as well as audio architectures along with demonstrated knowledge of general purpose processor architectures, such as ARM as well as DSPs and GPUs. Also critical is the ability to coach the team to work directly with customers, providing solutions real tim.

The Automotive Systems Division is looking for a talented student with a passion to learn, teach, and make a difference. The project is to develop a new method of developing Functional Requirements that the engineering community will want to participate in. The current methodology is laborious, and results in a list of “shall” statements that engineers don’t typically enjoy writing or reading. The envisioned new method would be to design a system using publicly available system modeling tools. Ideally, The output of this tool or tools would be used as the Functional Requirements. No more sitting and writing out "shall" statements. The candidate will need to: - Identify logical and functional system modeling tools on the market - Evaluate logical and functional system modeling tools - Develop system models for existing project - Demonstrate methods for capturing system requirements from the model Significant mentoring and supervision will be available to complete the assignment.
