Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. System Engineer to join an education technology organization. The Sr. System Engineer will be responsible for the enhancement, maintenance and stability of the creative and video production computing environment.

Responsibilities of the Sr. System Engineer include:

• Manage system infrastructure including, databases, testing computer equipment, malware and other software and hardware.

• Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues that may arise.

• Monitor the system daily and respond quickly to any security breaches or usability concerns.

• Backup systems and verify that backups have been completed.

• Regularly upgrade systems as needed.

• Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system.

• Research software and hardware products and prepares purchase orders.

• Installation and updates of workstation and peripheral software

Qualifications for the Sr. System Engineer include:

• 6+ years of experience

• Experience with Juniper products required - Design and implement network of firewalls, load balancers and other network system and services.

• Working knowledge of Cisco /Meraki switches, routers and wireless systems

• Working knowledge of Barracuda firewalls

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS (Public Private), Domain Management, HTTPS, FTP, NTP

• Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services

• Document and analyze software and hardware issues.

• Design, test and implement systems solutions.

Compensation for the Sr. System Engineer includes:

• Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
