Systems Engineer - Windows

Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer - Windows, is responsible for the design, build and operational support of the Windows server infrastructure, hosted on premises using VMWare virtualization and cloud based with Amazon Web Services (AWS). These responsibilities include installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, migrations of servers from on premises to AWS and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems.

The work location for this role is flexible if approved by UniGroup except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado and California.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures the efficient operation of daily activities and continuous improvement and automation of products and processes.

• Interfaces directly with product developers to understand and deliver systems built to their requirements.

• Builds, supports and maintains on premise and cloud-based solutions.

• Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of servers and systems in the environment.

• Evaluates systems and makes recommendations for improvement.

• Works collaboratively within a team to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently.

• Provides advanced level of technical support for both hardware and software issues that may arise.

• Assists in integrating new applications and technologies into current systems.

• Ensures security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.

• Monitors performance and maintains systems according to requirements.

• Automates tasks by creating scripts in common scripting languages.

Qualifications:

Education, License or Certification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience

Experience:

• 1-5 Years' Experience building Windows Server architectures using virtualization, cloud, and open-source technologies.

• Certified in AWS Cloud technologies.

• Windows System Administration.

• VMWare experience.

• 1-2 years' experience in cloud migrations to AWS
