Position Description:
Under minimal or no supervision, perform systems engineering tasks on fast-paced programs through the technical systems engineering processes. Perform as an engineering lead on assignments that involve technical performance modelling, simulation and controls engineering combined and participation in managing project systems engineering processes and procedures. Perform as a technical lead on projects, periodic testing campaigns and design reviews under the direction and supervision of Senior project personnel. Work within a team to promptly complete tasks. Communicate effectively to accomplish assignments and support others in accomplishing their assignments.
Responsibilities:
Planning and managing Model Based Engineering disciplines for multiple projects
Dynamic mathematical modeling and simulation of propulsion systems
Solid rocket motor system sizing and performance calculations
Participate in control system design, analyses and documentation.
Prototyping of control system design algorithms, test software development and testing support
Documentation of project requirements, and requirements verification methods
Support project management in risk assessment and mitigation planning
Requirements:
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (requires US Citizenship)
Bachelor's degree is required in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Four (4) years to seven (7) of systems engineering experience
Five (5) years of solid rocket motor design and testing
Working knowledge of MATLAB, MATLAB Simulink programming; LabVIEW or similar preferred
Working knowledge of CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
Experienced with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project
Proven ability to successfully operate in a highly collaborative team environment
Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as workload changes
Preferences:
Salary Range: $90,000 - $175,000
