Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Systems Engineers analyze, design, develop and test systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional Responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. These individuals may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.Additional Responsibilities

Job Skills & QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering related to Space or Satellites.
  • Experience in SIGINT and Space Payloads.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred
  • Agile experience.

MITRE's Resilient Weapon Systems Department is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide strategic and technical leadership in support of the nuclear enterprise. The successful candidate will apply digital engineering, architecture development, requirements and technology trade analysis, and acquisition strategies to address the nation's most challenging problems. This role includes contributing and/or leading a dynamic, multi-disciplined team developing technical solutions through innovation. Responsibilities include: * Analyzing complex systems-of-systems to provide actionable recommendations to the U.S. Air Force * Applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to build models, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations in support of planning and decision-making Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) related field * 5+ years of relevant experience Required Qualifications: * Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to acquire and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance * Knowledge of system engineering methods for system and system-of-system architecture design * Experience with one or more of the following: MATLAB, Mathematica, Java, C++, Python * Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, software languages, platforms, and systems Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with MBSE languages (e.g. SysML) and tools (e.g. Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody) * Experience in key technology areas: cyber defense, networking, cloud architecture, and software development * Understanding of development environments that build, test, and deploy software using Agile processes and DevOps and/or DevSecOps * Experience working on airborne systems from a technical and operational perspective * A current/active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
