Work with a variety of technologies and cutting-edge products

Analyze, design, and maintain software for the suite of management systems products under the direction of senior engineering staff and management.

Work closely with the product development team to deploy and operate product releases for dev/test, demos and interoperability studies.

Problem identification

System architecture definition

Hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation & testing

Client training

Solution deployment and performance testing

Work with technical engineers resolving new or difficult problems

Training of customer staff

Participate in the development of implementation plans and solutions


Understands web based clustered applications

Good understanding of network system

Performance testing on deployed platform

Proficient in scripting languages (Java script and Python preferred)

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Design

3+ years of work experience

Strong foundation in field-proven device and network monitoring, management, and analytic technologies

Experience with various automated installation and s/w deployment frameworks.

Proficient in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python

Experience with XML, JSON, REST, SOAP

Experience in setting up and running clustered web applications in virtual environments

Familiarity with software development build procedures and technologies.

Strong understanding of how Java Enterprise applications work.

Experience in software development in a Unix/Linux applications environment using Java.

Experience with Broadband Standards such as TR-069, TR-098, TR-104

Working Knowledge of SNMP

Experience with Telco/Cable CPE interoperability testing

Experience with performance testing of cluster web applications in a virtual environment.

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities This person will manage projects for Thermo Fisher Scientific Measurement, Controls and Equipment Business Unit for the pharmaceutical industry involving control systems/cabinets for SUBs (single use bioreactors) and SUM (single use mixers). Activities will include: * Project management * BOM creation for systems * Design/review P&ID instrument drawings. * Design/review PFD drawings * Modify standard control cabinets for projects with customizations * System staging support to include: equipment commissioning and check out, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) * Supports the service team during: Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Installation Qualification & Operational Qualification (IQ, OQ) activities * Assists in the promotion or sales of additional products and services. * Provides technical, engineering or troubleshooting assistance to installed base customers. * Works well under pressure: sometimes meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines. * Occasional travel to assist in startup and/or field upgrades of existing systems Minimum Qualifications: * Four- year degree in Engineering * Experience in project management * Over 10 years of combined experience in process and/or automation engineering * Three years of experience working with cGMP pharmaceutical companies * Experience designing pharmaceutical process workflows * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office * Ability to work well under pressure * Professional appearance and demeanor This position does not have relocation assistance At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
