The Systems Engineer is a technical role that supports R&D New Product Development initiatives. This position reports to an R&D Manager and is a responsible for a broad array of activities including subsystem design and system verification, working within the project constraints of schedule, cost, performance, quality and reliability objectives.
Executes Systems Engineering verification activities within various engineering disciplines, including initiation, testing requirements definition, coordination, and review of the designs executed.
Supports the preparation of documentation, including configuration documentation, protocols, reports, and other DHF and product documentation.
Supports defect management activities.
Supports or executes technical realization of designs including requirements management, technical documentation, and 2D and 3D design
Release engineering documents and drawings in a PLM System; implement ECN's as related to design or manufacturing documentation
Supports system integration, including cross functional collaboration, analysis, and technical problem solving
Supports or executes cross-discipline technical feasibility and tradeoff studies, including R&D prototype builds and testing.
Supports system-level design & reviews
Interacts with vendors, suppliers and consultants regularly to follow up on subassemblies and procure R&D samples, while confirming alignment with requirements and specifications.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics
Experience in multi-discipline productdevelopment environment.
Minimum three years of engineering experience.
Desired: Exposure to other engineering disciplines, including Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or physics.
Systems thinking acuity.
Ability to apply technical skills in multiple engineering disciplines
Demonstrated ability in technical analysis including evaluation of multiple candidate solutions and significant evaluation of intangibles.
Ability to propose methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to realize product functionality
Exposure to developing and executing verification and validation test plans.
Excellent communication, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Self-motivated and great with multitasking
Excellent technical writing, and presentation skills; English fluency.
Systems modeling training experience (e.g. MATLAB, simulink, Labview).
Preferred: Lean product design training preferred.
10% Domestic Travel required
