Systems Engineer - Memphis, TN

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to come join their talented team. This position is a perm position with a great organization that offers excellent opportunity. The Systems Engineer with limited supervision, is responsible for the design, analysis and monitoring of all installed systems and infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools. Provides advanced technical support for desktop, server, and networking issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and updates physical servers, virtual infrastructure and applications, including email, VMware, database servers, and file servers. Monitors existing systems to ensure system integrity

• Ensures configuration/installation best practices are met for all hardware, operating systems, applications and related systems

• Designs, implements and maintains Active Directory (AD), Domain Naming System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and other protocols as necessary

• Configures and implements backup and restore systems to maintain data availability and integrity

• Oversees the configuration and installation of new hardware and software. Maintains all network software including operating systems and application software. Ensures all software is properly licensed

• Creates and maintains documentation including but not limited to; PC configuration, hardware and hardware configurations, software and software configurations, software license information and inventory

• Develops and applies hardware and software security policies

• Troubleshoots issues, provides recommendations and /or solutions

• Assist other departmental associates as needed

• Performs other duties that may be assigned

• Other job duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in Computer Science, Information System, Information Technology or related discipline

• Master's degree in Management Information Systems preferred. VMware Certified Professional (VPC) preferred

• Six (6) years' experience in systems engineering, systems administration and/or systems analysis

• Experience with Local Area Networks, and the ability to provide training and general assistance to system users

• Excellent human relations, problem solving, customer service, troubleshooting and communication skills

• May work On-Call as needed

• Must have a valid driver license
