This position will support and maintain network infrastructure and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware and configurations.
Support the computing environment by evaluating network configurations, documenting changes and enforcing standards
Configure and implement new network equipment
Troubleshoot network tickets to completion as they arise
Maintain office port patching and vlans in accordance with security policies
Ensure that monitoring is kept up-to-date and the alerting is tested monthly
Generate network operational status reports including up-statistics
Work closely with the desktop team to assist with computer systems and phones as required
Participate in daily staff meetings
Requirements and Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree required Computer Science and/or Engineering degree related to computer networking
Networking CCNA or related certification
An understanding of firewalls including routing, security policy, site to site VPNs, IDP, and antivirus.
Experience with network devices, switching and routing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A desire to grow and learn in all IT areas
Ability to achieve results without close supervision
Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and also has the strong desire to work as a member of a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Travel may be required- up to 5% per calendar year
Flexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours
In order to support a nearby office, a vehicle is required
Involves work of a general office nature usually performed in a stationary position (E.G. sitting or standing) such as answering the phone, operation of a computer, and/or operation of a photocopier
Involves movement between departments to facilitate workflow
Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment 10-50lbs.
