SP Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer with a background in integrating Mechanical, Controls, and Electrical technologies with an emphasis on Control Systems for capital equipment. The ideal Systems Engineer will be able to research, plan, design, and integrate Mechanical, Control, and Electrical systems into a reliable, efficient, cost effective for low-temperature refrigeration package and automated vial movement systems, and direct and coordinate the fabrication, installation, operation, and repair of these systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine design feasibility or application.
Integration is paramount: Must have the ability to integrate mechanical, electrical, and controls systems into complex equipment structures which meets customers' requirements.
Design products or systems with consideration for cost, performance, materials, ease of maintenance, appearance, and adherence to customer specifications.
Oversee all aspects of the design, development, construction and testing processes.
Operate cross functionally in a matrix environment -customers, sales, R&D, manufacturing, et cetera.
Conduct research into the function and application of different types of mechanical components and material assembly techniques.
Explore various possible machine configurations and aid in selecting the optimum design for meeting the customer's processing objectives.
Build and execute the necessary models to predict performance.
Specify appropriate materials and components to ensure the standards of performance, quality, cost and safety are met.
Assist in supplier selection and in the evaluation of incoming materials.
Provide manufacturing support, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of assigned processes.
Serve as a technical resource to other departments to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design standards and customer specifications.
Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Make engineering changes and improvements within the CAD environment and process engineering change requests in a timely manner.
Convert customer requirements into design features into system applications.
Participate in design reviews with design team members and read and interpret technical materials.
Provide product support on the manufacturing floor.
Some travel may be required.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the minimum qualifications cited.
Education, Experience, and Work Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field from a four-year college or university.
Master's degree preferred.
PE license preferred.
EPA Universal Refrigeration Card a plus.
EPA or Refrigeration Certificate a plus.
HVAC certification a plus.
Refrigeration experience with R404A, R507A, LN2.
Heat transfer loop experience from
Experience with both direct expansion and flooded refrigeration designs preferred.
Work experience within an FDA compliant or ISO quality environment preferred.
Work experience in an Engineer-To-Order environment is a plus.
Work experience with vacuum systems down to 5 microns is a plus.
Must have good structured problem solving skills.
Must have good analytical skills.

Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
