Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.

Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.

Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.

Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements.

Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.

Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties. Requires expertise in specialty area to include modeling and simulation, data analytics, operational research, statistics, optimization, astrodynamic algorithms, design of experiments, mathematical physics, military systems, and/or military operations.


Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D. Master or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related technical discipline

As a Systems Engineer, you will be working on the Advanced EHF (AEHF) System Engineering and Integration Team. You will provide Mission Planning Element (MPE)/Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) Systems Engineering support at the Colorado Springs Citadel Facility. The primary responsibility is to provide MPE/MPSS Systems Engineering support required to satisfy and accomplish relevant tasking from the SMC customer. In this role, your tasks include, but are not limited to: * Provide MPE Systems Engineering and Program Management support * Provide MPE Systems Engineering support, support effective user application of new MPE functionality * Provide MPE functionality familiarization support as part of customer tag-ups and working groups * Address specific user technical questions about the MPE functionality (domain knowledge) * Interpret differences between MPE and legacy planning tool results * Participate in user MPE utilization forums; and support MPE issue management boards and other meetings as required. * Provide Systems Engineering technical expertise support and engineering leadership for the AEHF Capability Augmentation (ACA) MPE software and database maintenance for future release early integration efforts. * Participate in the MPE Working Group; MILSATCOM Interface Control Working Group (MICWG) and sub-team working groups design, development and test product reviews which includes In-Process Reviews and Mission Control Segment (MCS) Engineering Review Boards.
