SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer Senior to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career.
Job Responsibilities
Work with clients to gather, scope and define detailed requirements, interpret and translate the captured technical and functional requirements into technical documentation that can be utilized by project management, developers and testers to develop Java applications in the cloud
Work with architects and developers to document the solution design
Co-ordinate daily Scrum and track progress through life cycle of project using Jira
Report progress to management and work with management to clear obstacles on a daily basis
Coordinating the delivery of multiple projects by managing dependencies on other project teams
Allocating and/or tracking resources across multiple projects
Working knowledge of SELC and associated documentation (project plans, charters, business cases, requirements documents, test plans, status reports, burn-up/down charts, etc.)
Creating project plans and managing them accordingly
Working closely with business and solution resources on lifecycle deliverables
Generating weekly status reports in several formats
Coordinate with various organization and teams within the enterprise to ensure that all the activities and dependencies are being met by matrixed resources and other team responsible for delivery within the organization
Document project risks and mitigation plans and communicate to the stakeholders
Ensure all the processes are documented and followed for compliance
Contribute to project scoping, including requirement assessment, best practices, application design and development, methodologies, and budget recommendations
Perform Level 1 diagnosis of issues/problems raised by users and involve appropriate level 2 developers to implement fixes rapidly.
Qualifications
Required:
BS and 9+ years leading agile development teams performing all Scrum ceremonies utilizing the Atlassian tool suite, and/or experience as a business/requirements analyst capturing requirements in a collaborative setting
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust that requires U.S. Citizenship
Ability to translate abstract business requirements into discrete technical requirements
Ability to effectively communicate with wide range of audiences such as business sponsors, product owners, executives, users, software and system engineers, testers, business analysts
Requirements collection/management
Business and system analysis
Document/artifact creation and management
Strong attention to detail, highly organized and able to thrive in a busy, deadline driven atmosphere
Ability to work with development teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure related issues.
Understanding of relational database structures.
Detail oriented.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Desired
Experience in AWS (S3, RDS)
Extensive experience on Linux / UNIX platforms. 5+ years
Experience in scripting languages, specifically bash and Python
Experience in SQL and NoSQL knowledge (basic queries, basic administration).
Knowledge of SAML, OID, Kerberos, LDAP and how they work in an SSO solution.
Experience in Docker, building docker files, deploying.
Knowledge of DevOps practices
Knowledge of Ansible
Experience in failover and recovery planning, design, and testing.
Knowledge of Java/SpringBoot
Knowledge of WebLogic, tomcat & webserver a plus.
Experience in using REST APIs
Experience with BI Software is a big plus
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with PostgresDB administration
