Research, evaluate, design, recommend, implement, manage, monitor and support networked systems hardware, operating systems, systems software utilities and storage area networks. Provide 24x7 technical support to other IT departments by assisting in the resolution of problems and supporting various project initiatives. Advise management on technical and implementation issues. Provide technical advice to IT management in strategic planning and budgeting. Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintain systems hardware, operating systems, systems software, and storage subsystems including but not limited to the following:
Analyze system event, error, and security logs.
Define, document, and monitor the system backup and restore process.
Implement standards for setting up network logons, network file shares and permissions.
Create and troubleshoot print queues.
Monitor system performance and make system parameter changes as directed by senior engineers.
Configure and manage disk and file systems.
Monitor, report, and forecast systems and storage capacity.
Provide 24x7 technical support with the ability to troubleshoot .moderately complex systems, storage, and network connectivity issues.
Provide technical guidance and support for project initiatives.
Install and configure systems hardware and software.
Manage and track systems issues, systems hardware and/or software changes, and testing requirements.
Develop and maintain systems documentation, policies and procedures to support new functionality and process.
Resolve complex systems, storage, and network connectivity issues.
Analyze and tune performance of complex application servers, server clusters and storage area networks software and hardware components.
Develop and maintain standards for setting up network logons, network file shares and permissions.
Assist in project planning by determining hardware, software and resource requirements.
Install and configure various storage subsystems (including Storage Area Networks).
Validate the system backup and restore process.
Monitor and audit systems hardware and software for compliance with policies and procedures.
Design and develop tools and procedures to measure and track systems and storage performance and capacity.
Develop project plans in support of internal project initiatives, including plans for systems hardware and software upgrades.
Top-level technical expert with the ability to resolve highly complex systems, storage, and network connectivity issues.
Evaluate and recommend new systems and storage including cost/benefit analysis, as required.
Assist with research, evaluation, recommendations, design and implementation of solutions for application delivery to the enterprise.
Perform the role of project manager for internal project initiatives including the development and maintenance of technical project plans.
Assign activities to members of the project team, and follow up to ensure appropriate, timely execution of project tasks.
Assist management in the capital budgeting and project planning process.
Reports to the Manager of IT Systems Support and fulfills essential job functions defined by title.

Knowledge of hospitals and health care industry preferred.
Experience with wide area and local area infrastructure.

Must be to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
Requires skill of adjusting technical communication based on audience.
Technical certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, Citrix, SNIA, etc.) preferred.
Masters Degree with 4 years IT experience, Bachelors Degree with 6 years IT experience, Associates Degree with 8 years IT experience, or High Scholl Diploma with 10 years IT experience. Of the stated IT experience, at least 4 years must be in systems and/or network administration.
NOTE: Degree must be in Computer Science or a related field of study.
