The Role:
Our facility in Round Rock, TX is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player on a dynamic New Product Development team to oversee the development, deployment, and support of various delivery systems in the company's Advanced Deposition Materials group. These delivery systems support the delivery of specialty chemicals used by our customers to build high performance semiconductor products.
Challenges will vary depending on the industry needs which will require innovation and multi-faceted solutions. This role will include direct interaction with a broad range of global senior, technical and functional management, and subject matter experts throughout the organization and at contract manufacturers. This role may also include frequent customer interaction while working with the Entegris field service team for support.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for day to day activities for the new solid delivery systems being developed and deployed in the industry. This includes: designing or modifying new delivery systems, functional testing of new/existing delivery systems, working with contract manufacturers on updates, writing or updating operations manuals, etc.
Develop & Scale up R&D equipment and processes to High Volume Manufacturing sublimation equipment
Working with marketing and technical leaders on the requirements of new delivery systems, the delivery of new delivery systems and accurately identifying customer requirements for new systems
Subject matter expert on the system's plumbing, instrumentation, electrical layout and software functionality
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure equipment can be reliable and meet quality and cost targets; this activity includes design for enhancements to existing equipment manufacturability and new product equipment
Serve as responsible person for troubleshooting systems, designing key equipment and providing report-outs to senior management
Participate in new delivery system start-ups and field support for new and existing installation
Build knowledge of the delivery system's interaction with the various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the requirements for delivery of chemistry to their process chambers
Up to 20% travel, both domestically and internationally, is required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities
What We Seek:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar technical field or related experience is required. A Master's degree in a technical field and/or an MBA is a plus
Demonstrated experience (5-7+ years) of increasing responsibilities within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry
Semiconductor industry experience is required
Excellent electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills on complex systems
Troubleshooting low to medium vacuum system is desired
Detailed experience on temperature control systems with various heating, monitoring and insulation background
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple activities (over time)
A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
Travel, both domestically and internationally, will be required to support new and existing solid delivery systems
Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project); familiarity with SAP
Experience designing and maintaining complicated PLC control systems or delivery systems
Experience troubleshooting complicated temperature controlled, vacuum systems at customer sites
Knowledge of PLCs, ladder logic software, HMI screen interaction, etc.
Experience in training technicians on complex PLC controlled systems
Experience in ALD & CLD
Demonstrated expertise in new product phase gate activities
Direct experience supporting equipment or tools in the semiconductor industry
Demonstrated innovation or intellectual property experience • Assumes responsibility and accountability for delivery system activities
Strives to deliver the highest quality systems to the industry
New delivery systems will require continuous innovation and creative solutions to complex situations
Strong communication skills up, down, and across the organization and with customers
Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities and business interests
Ability to travel up to 20%, domestic & international
