Main Objective:

Perform maintenance and administration on Windows servers. Perform maintenance and administration on production server environment (Microsoft). Assist with Network Support and Administration (Cisco). Assist with local and remote support for desktop environment. Interact with strategic suppliers (SunGard, McAfee, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.). Responsibilities include overall application domain architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance. Lead a staff of network, server, and desktop support technicians. Work directly with database and application administrators to maintain network and server availability, reliability, and capacity. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the desktop, server, and network management team

  • Install and configure hardware, software, and network equipment in production environment (Windows application servers, Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, SQL server, MySQL, etc.).

  • Diagnose and resolve issues and problems that are discovered or reported within the IT services support domain (SQL Server, DNS, IIS, Cisco IOS)

  • Assist with network management and availability, performance, and security ? IP networking and Cisco technology experience a plus.

  • Direct technicians working with remote users to diagnose and resolve desktop or server issues in remote locations

  • Perform maintenance and administration functions on desktop, server, and network components (technologies: Virtual Server platforms, SNMP, NetFlow, MPLS, network analysis) ? also network-based back-up utilities, VPN support, etc.

  • Configuration and support of web servers and related network/firewall requirements.

  • Integration of new technologies and ability to quickly learn and support custom business applications

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 to 5 years network support experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vendor certifications (MCSE, CCNE) strongly desired.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft utilities and operating environment, Virtual Server technologies knowledge of UNIX and related environments a significant plus

  • Domain experience in Exchange and related Microsoft platform environments, Windows Server, HyperV.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with users and co-workers across all levels of the organization, and across a range of technical levels

  • Must possess strong knowledge of complex network and server environments

  • Must possess strong organizational and proven client communication skills, with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines; while maintaining a positive and detail oriented attitude

  • Flexible and creative team player with above-average problem solving and interpersonal skills. Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support as needed.
