In Beam Generation Physics team, we need someone like you being passionate on beam delivery performance on our state-of-the-art canter treatment platform! In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the following:

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the following

  • Design test to analyze the beam characteristics and verify dosimetry delivery quality

  • Design experiments to determine repeatability and reproducibility of beam data

  • Evaluate requirement with acceptance criteria and design test steps for BGM subsystem

  • Execute protocols and document test procedure and test results

  • Interface with manufacturing, service, and regulatory to ensure manufacturability, serviceability and compliance of our beam specifications

  • Communicate issues across functional teams, troubleshoot issues and propose solution

  • Complaint investigation and trouble shooting technical issues

  • Work with cross functional teams to design beam control algorithms, implement and test beam servos and interlocks, as well as evaluating beam generation subsystem components

  • Familiar with IEC medical linac standard is a plus

  • Familiar with dosimetry instrument and measurements is a plus

Job Requirements

  • Physics / Medical Physics / Radiation Physics preferred

  • Knowledge in Microwave Engineering is a plus

  • Experience in Monte Carlo Simulations is a plus

  • Passion to improve the technology of the next generation cancer treatment systems

  • Drive for quality results and solve issues

  • Curiosity to learn more and proactivity to take actions

  • Experience with hands on experiments is preferred

  • Proficiency in simulation/numerical analysis software such as MATLAB and good data analysis skills is preferred

Maxar's Mission Engineering and Operations (MEO) organization is seeking an experienced Ground System Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical requirements, design, analyses, implementation, support to testing & verification, operations and maintenance of Satellite Ground Systems to meet satellite operations requirements. Responsibilities: * Analyze customer and company requirements for development of new and existing satellite Ground Systems including Satellite Control Systems (SCS), TT&C earth stations (TTAC), Communication Systems Monitor (CSM) and supporting planning tools, Site Communication Systems (SCN) and/or when integrated Gateways of communications and TT&C functions. * Support development of the ground system project scope, goals and deliverables. * Prepare and support ground system project requirement for internal & external groups, vendors, and partners. * Prepare and support development of Ground to Spacecraft Interface and Ground Software Requirements Documents. * Prepare and support development of ground system design documents and materials for SRR, PDR and CDR reviews. * Prepare and support development of ground system operations procedures. * Review vendor Satellite Ground System subsystem Design and Analyses documents. * Review vendor Satellite Ground System subsystem Test Plans and Procedures documents. * Prepare and support reviews of ground system FAT, SAT, and end-to-end Subsystem and System testing and validation. * Prepare Satellite Ground System hardware, software and analyses. Minimum Requirements: * Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident * Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field * Requires 4 years of relevant experience supporting spacecraft design or operations. * Ability to work independently, and within a team structure, to troubleshoot problems on spacecraft, ground systems, and ground equipment. * Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills. * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines with exceptional quality. * Work assignments may include international travel to customer ground system sites and vendor facilities. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field * Previous experience working with the GMV Hifly Satellite Control System (Automation through Autofly and Autofocus, magNet M&C integration, smart rings for payload testing and FocusGEO) and/or the KISI EPOCH Command and Control System (EPOCH T&C Systems (Automation through EPOCH's Task Initiator and STOL, OASYS, and EPOCH Ground System Integration) in a real-time satellite operations or engineering environment. * Previous "Hands On" RF Communications Satellite Ground System hardware and software design, development, integration, test and operations experience. * Satellite Systems and Subsystems knowledge and operations experience is also a plus.
