OVERVIEW: phia is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the full lifecycle of planning, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support of a Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) for a large and complex national enterprise working with a diverse set of stakeholders.


  • Provide architecture and design of the TIP solution
  • Design and maintain a plan to implement the TIP solution into the customer enterprise
  • Review and update security, functionality, and operational requirements, as defined by the customer
  • Provide an Application Programming Interface (API) that exposes threat data to other systems for integration
  • Must be able to enstre the TIP is able to integrate with security sensors, including: Cisco ASAs, SourceFire, TippingPoint, Symantec, BlueCoat, and Forescout
  • Assist with creating service accounts and AD users/roles
  • Install, configure, test, troubleshoot and deploy the TIP solution
  • Research any unique or proprietary methods or technologies that may provide added value to the customer, or any challenges that may be encountered during integration into the customer environment
  • Assist with integrating TIP with Tanium and Splunk ES
  • Perform system/integration tests
  • Provide knowledge transfer to customer CISO and IT personnel
  • Provide hot fixes, patches, updates, and upgrades to system components as needed
  • Assist with training customer teams as needed
  • Work with other Team members to ensure an effective and efficient cyber incident management system for the customer
  • Organize and direct the configuration and operation of information management systems.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
  • Maintain servers, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensure functionality of system links
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situation effectively



  • 6+ years of related technical experience working in cyber operations engineering or architecting solutions in support of operations
  • 7+ years experience working in IT, cybersecurity, information security or similar
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Working knowledge of common business software (e.g. MS Office), Windows/Linux OS, and IT systems
  • Strong communications and technical writing skills
  • Possess customer service experience
  • Familiarity with Cyber Kill Chain
  • Possess basic programming (.NET, C/C++) and scripting skills (e.g. Perl, Java, or Python)
  • Operating Systems and Applications Administration experience: Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting (Linux/Unix/OS X)
  • Network Routing, Switching, Firewalls and Infrastructure Administration experience: Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting
  • Experience working with Tanium and Splunk ES, specifically integrating with other platforms
  • Experience with one or more of the following security sensors: Cisco ASAs, SourceFire, TippingPoint, Symantec, BlueCoat, and Forescout
  • Physical Installation Practices experience
  • Understanding of Systems and Network Administration and Network Security
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to self-start, prioritize assignments, and work in a collaborative Agile team environment
  • DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I certification required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.


  • 10+ years of related technical experience working in cyber operations engineering or architecting solutions in support of operations
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile development methodology.
  • Experience or familiarity with Waterfall methodology.
    • One or more preferred CISSP, CEH, SFCP, GCIA, ISSEP, ISSMP, GCIH, GCFA, CSLC, CISM, CCNA, CCNP, product specific certifications or training Cisco ISE/Network Admission/Access Control
  • MA/MS in computer science, information security, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Active Secret or higher clearance

TRAVEL: TBD- Travel to the following locations may be required: Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, Eagan, MN

Northrop Grumman System Security Engineering (SSE) team is seeking a systems thinker with good leadership skills and hands-on experience implementing system security architectures requirements for a complete mission security solutions. This position is looking for a candidate with an understanding of embedded hardware for a security architecture for embedded subsystems with multi-function sensors. This position requires the ability to understand a system architecture and determine how to document mission critical functions and components and the protections using Anti-Tamper Techniques and/or the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as building blocks to design a holistic security solution. This includes an understanding of securing interfaces into and out of the system in order to protect the mission without jeopardizing system performance. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in technical planning, system integration support, as well as, verification and validation for System Security efforts deploying Anti-Tamper and Cybersecurity techniques. The candidate will assist with SSE efforts on development programs, and report progress for requirements documentation, tasks execution, and lessons learned. The Senior Principal Systems Engineer will be an individual contributor on efforts at all instances of the product development life cycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Role responsibilities include: * Performing key systems engineering elements to meet a given program's requirements * Assist with the design and develop system security architectures * Assist with the definition of key capabilities and performance requirements * Perform detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to assist with the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software specifications as they pertain to system security * Develop an understanding of system interfaces and how to protect them * Assist with ensuring the product requirements integrate into the total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints * Develops modifications to existing products to meet unique customer needs, and supports/leads the development of system security functions * Support technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed. * Present solutions to customers and senior management using tailored material based on the audience.
