Responsibilities:

Perspecta is looking for entry-level professionals to support predictive analysis of complex systems. Successful candidates will join engineering and/or software teams that are innovating solutions for current and future remote sensing systems.

Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Qualifications:

Requires 0 to 2 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years no degree.

Required Skills:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer/software), Imaging Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical field

  • High degree of computer literacy with ability to rapidly learn complex applications and tools

  • Competence/experience in at least one of the following: Matlab, Python, C++, C#, Perl, SAS, or R

  • Ability to speak confidently and clearly in order to participate in and brief at technical meetings

  • Capability to write clearly and articulately

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • TS/SCI Clearance (Must be able to obtain clearance for this position)

Desired Skills:

  • Competence/experience in multiple of the following: Matlab, Python, C++, C#, Perl, SAS, or R

  • Strong analysis skills, with the ability to identify and accurately describe system issues

  • Experience in Data Mining, Analysis, Performance Analysis, Predictive Analytics and Reporting using various methods and tools

  • Experience in modeling and simulation techniques

Help us build on our more than 60 year history of supporting of our Air Force customer, while we develop systems for the next 60 years. The successful candidate will have an understanding of systems engineering principles as it relates to developing and conducting technical studies and analyses using mathematical models for weapon systems, subsystems, assemblies, and components. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish effective communication between the ICBM and Strategic Systems Team and our customers on a regular basis. Relevant studies will include the fields of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), survivability and reliability as they relate to the sustainment of current, and the development of, future strategic weapons systems, such as the Minuteman III ICBM system. The successful candidate will utilize traditional systems engineering methodologies related to risk management, requirements management, and reliability analysis. Support will be provided during the entire product life cycle including requirements analysis, the design phase, procurement, and integration and test phases. The successful candidate will develop and present technical reports and documentation. The ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance is required for this position. This position requires a government security clearance and only candidates with US Citizenship will be considered. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college/university in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, Engineering/Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline; US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities. * Strong mathematics background with emphasis on system modeling. * Skills in performing technical analyses of systems and components Desired Skills: * Navigation, Guidance, and Controls (NGC) background with an emphasis on analytical evaluation and algorithm development of systems. * Familiarity with requirements development activities including requirement creation, validation and verification utilizing various test and analytical techniques. * Experience with Model Based Engineering processes and tools, to include Rhapsody, Cameo System Modeler, SysML or similar. * Experience using Matlab, Mathcad or similar modeling tools. * Experience in Project Planning tools and methods.
