Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team building the next generation of the Air Force Weather capabilities and providing weather support to warfighters around the world.
What You'll get to Do:
Design the next generation of weather forecasting systems for the United States Air Force. Support systems through the entire engineering life cycle. Work directly with the customer to help shape the requirements, design the system/software, requisition hardware, support the implementation and sustain the systems.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills who exhibits flexibility, the ability to work well with other team members and external customers. Individual must have the ability to prepare and present briefings to senior leadership and external customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft tools. The candidate will be responsible to help design and maintain on premise systems and also help identify and recommend design solutions in AWS GovCloud for a hybrid cloud architecture.

This position has the option to work a 9/80 schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Application of systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements
Execution of trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
Perform Systems Requirements analysis to include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
Conduct Requirements Management to include database development, management, maintenance and experience using Atlassian JIRA
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
System modeling and simulation
Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Perform analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, and test.
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
2 years of System Engineering experience with a Bachelor's of Science in a STEM discipline; 0 years of System Engineering experience with Masters
Systems Engineering skills, including requirements definition/allocation, interface definition, verification & validation, and life-cycle management
Experiance with commercially available architecting tools such as Enterprise Architect, CAMEO, etc.
Experience with Atlassian tools (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, FeCru)
Ability to provide a wide variety of technical analyses and program management support to a government customer
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security CE certification
Agile development team experience.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Appropriate certification as required by DoD Directive 8570 (CompTIA Security or higher) Level I Position.
Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
Active Secret (or higher) clearance. An interim clearance is acceptable.
Scaled Agile Framework experience
