Sev1Tech (formerly ESP, Inc.) is looking to hire a talented Systems Engineer / Software Configuration Manager in Aberdeen, MD.

This role will perform a wide range of systems engineering services to ensure the PEO C3T is compliant with program requirements and objectives, interoperability requirements, configuration management requirements, and similar Program-Wide responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Capabilities analysis

  • Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) efforts

  • Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS)

  • System and/or software integration, platform integration

  • Interoperability with various Command, Control, and Communications (C3) systems

  • Technical or operational testing

  • Sustainment and refreshment of capabilities.

  • Configuration management, planning and strategy meetings, program review and coordination meetings

  • General systems engineering, systems implementation planning and system test and evaluation services

  • Prepare specifications, plans, analyses, modeling, testing, simulations and reports

  • Review engineering output in the areas of systems level operation and maintenance procedures, performance improvements criteria, tools assessments, metrics management, quality assurance, configuration management, technical orders, and maintenance practices

  • Conduct systems engineering trade-off analysis

  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all the systems level requirements to provide an integrated solution. IAT level II certification required as applicable.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related scientific or technical field

  • Must position Secret clearance or higher

  • Certification Requirement: DoD 8570: Level II required

  • Must have substantive configuration management experience.

  • A minimum of eight (5) years of related systems engineering and configuration management experience

  • Four (4) years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education

The contractor shall provide Software Maintenance Lifecycle support to include: program management, infrastructure and information technology management, Post Deployment Software Sustainment (PDSS) Mission Support, Post Production Software Sustainment (PPSS) Mission Support, cybersecurity and authorization support. The individual may be required to perform services at its own facility (off-site) or at a duty station at a designated U.S. Government facility or other designated facilities (on-site) within the Continental U.S. (CONUS). IASAE Level I personnel are responsible for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of a DoD IA architecture, system, or system component for use within their Computing Environment (CE). Incumbents ensure that IA related IS will be functional and secure within the Computing Environment (CE). DoD 8570.01-M spells out the tasks and duties in detail and the DFARS stipulates compliance with the DoD 8570.01-M. Must have a working knowledge of the functions spelled out in Table C10.T3. IASAE Level I Functions in DoD 8570.01-M The Software Configuration Management, Intermediate will be responsible for: * Direct experience providing Configuration Management through Audit and creation of version description documents (VDD). Experience includes replicating and distributing media to field locations. Direct experience gathering/eliciting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software licensing requirements to support PM DCGS-A * Direct experience with teamwork to coordinate with the Functional Leads, including Logistics personnel, Budget, Technical Leads, System Engineers, and Information Assurance engineers OPSEC for eliciting and clarifying software license requirements. 8 yrs of direct experience with procuring of COTS Software products and licensing through working with various procurement/contracting vehicles; interfacing with Legal and Contracting office on all DCGS-A software license legal, funding, and contracting issues. Direct experience with processing, distributing, and tracking all authorized software licenses requests. Requirements: * Five years of professional experience, appropriate computing environment certification, and Inormation Assurance (IA) SYSTEM ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER (IASAE) SPECIALTY qualified in accordance with standards spelled out in DoD 8570.01-M and the Army Information Assurance(IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practice, corrected 6 Aug 2010. * Engaging and assisting customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing costs. Responsibilities will involve product procurement, vendor management, asset inventory, and asset usage planning and assessment. Tracking license usage, projecting license growth & managing the cost of the software maintenance contracts. * Consulting regarding customers software license needs * Direct customer contact; working at customer location * Create documentation of operational concepts, workflows, etc. * Analyze customer license contracts * Investigation and clarification with the software publishers * Skills in configuring and installing various operating systems and application software. Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technological problems * Responsible for advanced configuration control during product development phase. * Reviews design release documents for completeness, proper approvals and system updates, to ensure correct configuration modifications. * Reviews contracts and drafts configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements. * Assists in the maintenance of the database * May also be responsible for contract data submittal and status on smaller projects * Communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel.
