This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

Enabling this future requires commercial low Earth orbit destinations where people can live and work, creating economic value. We are building the next space station. With a commercial business model and a futuristic space architecture designed to promote and sustain a robust orbital economy, we will normalize space travel for larger numbers of people. As part of a passionate and growing team, you will provide program support to the integrated product teams developing systems for the Orbital Reef Program. Working with the IPT leads and the program management team you will coordinate IPT activities to foresee, prevent and overcome development issues. This position directly drives the ability to deliver the flight unit, requiring your detailed attention and commitment and a blend of technical and business acumen. The position reports to the Orbital Reef Program Manager Office (PMO) Director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Organize budgets, schedules, risks, metrics, facility and program plans to ensure development, qualification and production hardware is delivered and support the various campaigns.

  • For critical IPTs and products, Report status, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management.

  • Provide technical direction and support for program risk and opportunity management system: responsible for facilitating program risk and opportunity management board and associated reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with internal/external customers to ensure performance to plan and manage expectations

  • Assess current and future capabilities and needs anticipating limiting factors while working with management to solve shortfalls/gaps.

  • Maintain strong organizational and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and team-orientated philosophy while supporting Team Blue. Duties and/or special assignments as assigned by the Program Manager and PMO.

  • Utilization of collaboration tools such as (but not limited to) JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field

  • 2+ years' experience in systems engineering and/or program/project management

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, cost, and risk

  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills

  • Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar

  • Aptitude for hands-on problem solving, with a passion for spacecraft systems

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-starter, strong bias for action

  • Experience with aerospace vehicle development

  • Experience with subcontracts, schedule and resource management

  • Experience with verification, integration, and test, of space systems

  • Experience with MS SharePoint and Jira

  • Experience with assessing program health (e.g. metric development, tracking, and status updates)

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $96,480-$135,072

Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $96,480-$135,072

Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $88,440-$123,816
