TransCore Amtech Systems, LLC (AMS), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc, (NYSE:ROP) is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer II to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary:
Designs, develops and integrates test hardware, software and systems solutions for TransCore RFID readers and tags. Position will be responsible for system level development including the design, test, and documentation of specific customer applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop hardware and systems level interface specifications.

  • Perform system/subsystem design and implementation.

  • Estimates effort to develop and deliver systems.

  • Read and interpret device interface specifications.

  • Directly interfaces with customers, vendors and subcontractors.

  • Designs/assembles system components or gives direction to others.

  • Performs site surveys and provides input to drafting.

  • Write requirements documents and designs solutions to meet the requirements.

  • Write acceptance test plans and procedures and obtains customer approvals.

  • Manages small to moderate sized projects, including schedules and customer expectations.

  • Manages vendor and subcontractor deliverables and schedules.

  • Manages and/or performs installations of equipment/systems and executes acceptance tests.

  • Technical Proposal Preparation.

  • May perform circuit and board design.

  • May prepare Engineering drawings and documentation.

  • Some air travel may be required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 8 yrs Systems, Hardware, or Software design experience

  • Must be capable of providing day-to-day technical/design leadership.

  • Ability to analyze customer requirements for feasibility, cost and development effort.

  • Ability to manage test engineers, plan testing, and analyze test data

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge or experience with RF communications, and/or RFID are highly desired

  • Experience with test equipment specifically oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • CAD/CAE experience: ADS, Matlab, System View, Etc.

  • Understanding of communications system and circuits; receivers, modulators, demodulators, transmitters, encoders, decoders.

  • Understanding of electromagnetic fields, wave propagation, EM energy absorption and reflection.

  • Understanding of statistics and statistical methods for analyzing test data and communication systems

  • FPGA and/or DSP specification and verification experience desired

  • Software design and requirements specification experience desired


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • BSEE, MSEE preferred.

For additional company information, please visit: Responsibilities As a Space Systems Engineer - Acquisition SME with MTSI you will work on high-visibility, or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently at the highest level of subject-matter expertise. You will lead development and implementation of key programs and/or processes for the organization, while providing advice and counsel in your area of expertise. Specifically, you will provide expertise and leadership in analysis, requirements, system engineering and architecture, integration, test, and transition in support of space as a warfighting domain This position will be located in Albuquerque, NM. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: * Provide space system acquisition subject matter expertise, to include support of day-to-day program execution to include oversight of existing space systems acquisitions, initiating new contractual actions. * Provide expertise in the execution of existing space systems programs and the development of new acquisition contracts. * Provide support to planning, organizing and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of space systems and equipment. * Provide support to various program actions and activities to include meeting attendance, contractor performance tracking, milestone planning, briefing preparation, staff coordination, acquisition risk management, and decision document preparation. * Provide support in the development of pre ad post contract award documentation activities including request for development of request for proposals (RFPs), Statements of Objectives (SOO), performance work statements (PWS), and Statements of Work(SOW). * Provide space systems engineering support including: * assistance in the integration of space systems, configuration management and interface control. * technical assessments and recommendations to deviations that arise across interfaceboundaries, and analysis and reporting of these efforts. Qualifications * Ten (10) years' of direct space acquisition experience. * Recent experience initiating and executing major (ACAT II or higher) space acquisition programs. * Knowledge of and experience in analyzing, drafting, and reviewing space acquisition documents and experience with programs requiring enhanced security measures. * Aptitude for Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work. * Expertise with Space, Ground, and Services Architectures. * Experience with systems engineering disciplines and requirements management processes. * Experience in Satellite Communications Systems. * Experience in Ground Terminal development. * Understanding of mission user needs and operational environments. * Knowledge of bandwidth efficient modulation schemes. * Fluency of IC organizations. * Experience with rapid prototyping. * Experience with integrated air, space and cyberspace capabilities. * Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs. * Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skills. * Demonstrated capability and success working in team environments.
