  • Design and support VMWare VSphere on Dell and Cisco UCS Blade Servers infrastructure.

  • Strong applied knowledge of Windows, Active Directory, and Group Policy.

  • Responsible for implementing, tuning, maintaining and upgrading multi-site VMware VSphere based solutions.

  • Actively seeks out opportunities to improve existing practices, procedures, and technology implementations

  • Applies technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, utilities, etc. to the VMware environment

  • Defines, monitors, and troubleshoots system performance within the environment

  • Develops and maintains operational guidelines for the maintenance and support of the virtual infrastructure.

  • Evaluates resource requirements for VMware products and capacity planning our virtual environments.

  • Reviews existing technology, configuration, and implements improvements and upgrades.

  • Manage and perform patch and software distributions, and manage security configuration of the systems.

  • Task Automation is key with hands on experience.

  • Provide reports for system health, configuration and capacity. Perform routine maintenance and apply software updates.

  • Perform root cause analysis of service problems and develop solutions.

  • Ensure processes are documented and up to date.

  • Develop and support the general design of solutions that meet general system best practice requirements.

  • Develop specifications for systems, hardware, and Virtual network configurations.

  • Works with IT OPS staff (e.g. managers, senior programmers, DBA's, and architects) to plan robust virtual infrastructure and implementation, enhancements and changes.

  • Performs day to day server provisioning, performance analysis, compatibility matrix between different hardware generations and different version of hypervisors.

  • Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software.

  • Develop and support backup multi-site solution.

  • Defines metrics reflecting system health-VMware and Windows.

Your skills, experience and education

  • Minimum 4 Years experience in supporting VMware ESXi environments in an enterprise setting.

  • Upgrading, performance tuning, capacity planning, and creation of policies.

  • Minimum 4 Years experience in ability to program/script.

  • Ability to identify tasks which should be automated and then write tools to automate them.

  • Minimum 4 Years experience integrating Dell standalone and Cisco UCS Blade servers with VMware.

  • Minimum 4 years experience with enterprise backup solutions such as NetBackup, Simpana, or Networker.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, on both technical and non-technical level, with appropriate staff at all levels, as well as with vendors.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong understanding of networking and distributed Virtual Switches, load balancing, principles of routing, shared hosted environments, and datacenter

  • Working knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols; primarily iSCSI, NFS4 years working in highly available, ASP and SAAS type environments where uptime is critical.

  • Preferred VCP and MCSE Certified

This role will partner with the site management team to develop and lead a performance transformation to improve overall operations, systems, and ultimately the continuous improvement culture. This person will be measured annually on his/her ability to enhance a continuous improvement culture and his/her development and execution of sustainable unit cost reduction and equipment reliability initiatives. Responsibilities: * Introduces Lean Manufacturing concepts to manufacturing facility and helps the management team with implementation. * Conduct value stream mapping exercises to define processes; work with the team to implement or improve the use of LEAN tools, 5S, Six SIGMA, etc. * Helps develop employee's lean skills through effective coaching, teaching, mentoring and simulated work environment training. * Conduct diagnostics to identify areas for improvement. * Conduct observations and analyze data including downtime, cycle time, material waste etc., in order to bring recommendations for improvement opportunities to the team. * Tracks, communicates and shares all levels of results and lessons learned - ensures successes are published and communicated to all employees. * Tracks performance metrics and drives the benefits of continuous improvement. Ensures results are sustainable. * Facilitate and lead team activities and rapid improvement events as required. * Lead and mentor leadership team members, facilitating a culture that motivates employees. * Propose and support the projects and programs within the businesses for the identification of improvement levers, setting smart objectives and carrying-out Manufacturing Excellence programs. * Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices while helping drive a zero harm culture. * Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business or as requested. Additional Responsibilities * Communicate with plant personnel to promote new concepts and drive process implementation, as well as provide technical oversight during start-ups to observe, troubleshoot, and document any process or scale-up issues provide operating guidelines and procedures for new processes. * Personally interact with plant personnel, who are critical in helping develop requirements of new processes and who understand existing processes, and R&D to ensure development of viable, achievable processes that can be implemented within specific cost and time restraints. * Interact and communicate with R&D personnel to gain understanding of new technologies and impact on existing processes, as well as provide guidance on existing processes and process constraints. * Deliver project results to improve the business as a whole by enhancing durability, quality, new production capacity, efficiency, and/or safety in such a way that the projects are resourced to further the Company's position in the building products industry by * Using a goal-oriented leadership style to lead teams to project success focusing on the key areas of Company strength and weakness and addressing both to accomplish projects personally or overseeing the work required to deliver the project results. However, he/she is responsible for the actions and safety of any support personnel that accompany or assist him/her in the manufacturing plant. He/she also coaches line personnel in proper techniques and concepts of new processes. Education/Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering required. * Extensive previous experience in implementation of OE/CI projects in manufacturing environment. * Proven experience with 5S and heavily lean environment, preferably in an implementation role * Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma experience to drive business results. * 5-7 years' experience, site leadership position a plus. * Strong technical skills. * Impact and influence skills and strong experience in change management * Project Management skills. * Ability to lead and respond to changing environment.
