Summary
The Systems Engineer leads the requirements analysis, tracking and verification for hardware development programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze customer inputs to define requirements
Derive System and Component requirements
Define hardware system architecture and design approach
Provide System/Subsystem tradeoff analysis and design support
Develop and conduct program test plans mitigate risk and verify requirements
Interface with customer for requirement tracking and testing witness
Support engineering demonstrator and/or test units, conduct testing, and analyze test results
Perform technical writing tasks: requirements, procedures, and reports
Provide program proposal development support
Conduct cost estimating, planning, and scheduling of System Engineering efforts
Create program documentation to support contractual deliverables.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or similar technical discipline
Minimum 2 years engineering experience
Prefer minimum 2 years experience in hardware Systems Engineering
Experience using software tools for requirements, document control, and workflow management (prefer experience with DOORS, Windchill, and JIRA)
Experience preparing and presenting program milestone reviews for customers
Hands-on testing and debugging complex systems in a lab/test facility environment
Proven ability to develop innovative solutions both individually and part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management and customers
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Simulation and training systems experience
Experience designing electrical and/or fluid (hydraulic/pneumatic) systems
Knowledge of structural standards and building codes
Understanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM)
Functional experience with programming and/or database administration
Experience with Computer Aided Design, especially Creo or Solidworks
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
