Systems Engineer is responsible for Special Test Equipment ( STE ) Design, development and integration of the STE with the Prime Hardware for Space and Airborne Systems. As a Systems Engineer, the candidate will work as part of a team to develop /analyze Hardware / Software test routines and specification requirements. The position requires a candidate that is adept at both Software and Hardware. Potential areas of focus are: Receiver Module and Receiver Unit Test Sub-Systems on multiple airborne programs.

Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

Candidate will be required to analyze and test RF/digital circuits associated with unit and system level applications. Instrumentation skills should include working knowledge of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and general test equipment. Personal disciplines should include excellent adherence to; lab practices, configuration control, and program instructions. Candidate should be reliable, a self-starter, and able to work with minimum direction. Periodic travel requiring non-standard work schedules may be required.

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the Interim Secret Security Clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

Requirements:

  • Software development experience (i.e. internship, co-op, projects, etc.)

  • Software programming experience using NI LabWindows & TestStand, C, and/or C++ languages.

  • Working knowledge of drawing software applications (ORCAD/MENTOR or similar app.).

  • Working knowledge of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, DMMs, etc.)

  • B.S. degree in STEM and zero - two years of experience

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

  • Software development experience using LabView, Matlab.

  • Working knowledge of Digital Programming (Verilog/VHDL)

  • Experience with Windows XP, WIN7, WIN10 and the Microsoft Office tools suite.

  • Self-starter able to resolve problems autonomously but also work as part of a team, as required.

  • Disciplined problem solving approach to all engineering tasks (testing. documentation, etc.)

Required Education:

Must have a BS from an ABET accredited university with a major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering or other related field by May 2020 or have graduated 18 months prior to start date.
