SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE

In this role you will:

  • Participate in the creation of sales strategy and tactics and takes ownership of technical responsibilities.

  • Assisting customers with evaluations and benchmarks, system configurations, and system installations.

  • Demonstrate technical leadership and domain expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS and SAN product spaces.

  • Prepare and deliver of technical product and architecture presentations to customers and ensure the technical win within the new prospects and clients.

  • Capture new solution requirements.

  • Identify and encourage new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing/validation.

  • Facilitate mutual roadmap and planning exchanges

  • Work with product and technical marketing to produce materials (i.e. whitepaper, web presentations) that support overall alliance plans and objectives.

  • Track and monitor the competitive landscape and ensure that materials accurately reflect the latest, differentiated solution positioning.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • 10 years minimum experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking or systems solutions to a combination of large enterprise accounts and data centers.

  • Deep understanding of the architecture, design and implementations of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.

  • Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs and RFIs.

  • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).

  • Familiarity with modern web architecture a plus (LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, NoSQL alternatives).

  • UNIX OS, NFS file systems and UNIX distributed network environment.

  • Installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems.

  • Knowledge of VMWare, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking.

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.

  • BS in CS, EE or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.

  • Pre-sales experience is required.

  • Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.

  • Application knowledge is highly desirable.

This position will be located in Portland Oregon, but you will be supporting Alaska, Oregon, Eastern Washington, and northern Idaho as well as the entire Pacific Northwest sub-market. This is a challenging position that will require a high degree of technical skill, but just as importantly, will require a high degree of communication skills as you will be supporting, training, and leading your team with the goal of improving network performance. Specifically here are some of the items you will be tasked with: * Help lead the team in our transition to 5G * Direct and design eNodeB parameter trials, analyze results, and make recommendations based on those results * Stay alert for best practices and facilitate submarket wide adoption * Help the sub-market monitor the adoption of key recommendations and initiatives * Document key knowledge in the shared environment of gSuites or NCT * Develop and support VPS and VSON algorithms * Prepare the sub-market for upcoming eNodeB SW releases or any other upcoming activity that may result in KPI impact * Train sub-market engineers on new functionalities and technologies (e.g. VSON, LAA, 5G, CBRS) This position will have traditional duties of a System Performance Engineer including a site cluster assignment. You will also be supporting a fairly large site build out in Alaska and will help to back up the current SP in that market. Motivated, proactive, and organized, you have the ability to manage complex projects simultaneously. You're driven to find creative solutions to problems no one's ever encountered before. Developing more junior team members to build capacity across the organization gives you satisfaction. You take ownership of your work, and are able to establish collaborative working relationships across the business to make our system even more robust. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience. * Experience with system optimization, KPIs, and parameters of LTE for Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, or Motorola end-to-end wireless network architecture. * Experience with (Vo)LTE, EVDO, CDMA2000-1X air interfaces. * Valid driver's license. * Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary. * Willingness to travel. Even better if you have: * A degree in electrical engineering or related discipline. * Experience with parameter optimization, trials, and statistical analysis. * Knowledge of Ericsson LTE roadmap and plans for L14B, L15 and beyond, and how this relates to 3GPP standards. * Knowledge of packet data networks analysis concepts. Ideally, including knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, TCP/IP (IPv4 and IPv6) algorithms such as slow start or congestion control algorithm, IP measurement tools such as ping, traceroute, pathchar, snoop & tcpdump. * Knowledge of Routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, BGP or SIP. * Experience with WireShark. * Ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN, EPC, and IMS CORE related problems. * Experience with ANR, CMDS, Carrier Aggregation (CA), 4X Transmit, 4X Receive, AWS, TMA's, RET, RRH, or Ericson AIR antenna products. * Knowledge of Advanced Calling (VoLTE), SIP, and the analysis of SIP messaging using Irisview. * Experience with RTT, e-health, ELPT, Chicago web, Mars, SAM, Agilent Access CDMA, Actix, Windcatcher, NLT, Zite/SSAT, Mapinfo, Geoplan, and any network optimization tools. * Experience in RF design. * Knowledge of core network including but not limited to PDSN, CSR router, WDN router, Aggregate Router, (P,I,&S)CSCF, PCRF, AAA, HSS, MME, SGW, PGW, IMS, 7750 and Cisco 9K, 10K & 1K routers. * Knowledge of one scripting language such as perl or visual basic.
