The County is accepting applications for Systems Engineers to manage and enhance a variety of production level systems in an enterprise environment. This position will provide support for the enterprise infrastructure including VMware, SAN and NAS storage, load balancing technologies, and Window Server operating systems.

A current vacancy exists within the Sheriff's Department. The resulting list may be used to fill current and future vacancies, as they occur.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift: Must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts.

Physical Requirements:
Position requires multiple repetitive motions and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds overhead.

Background Check: Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, prior to appointment.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.

  • AND-

Experience: Two (2) years of work experience, within the past five (5) years, performing systems/storage administration at the enterprise level. Experience must include the following:

  • Network Administration

  • Microsoft server Administration

  • VMware virtualization technologies

  • High availability and disaster recovery as they relate to system architecture and infrastructure

Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Working knowledge of load balancing technologies.

  • Working knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies.

  • Working knowledge of data center design.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Server applications

  • Working knowledge of Internet Proxy

  • Working knowledge of Cisco routing and switching

The incumbent will plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of the department's GIS. In addition, the incumbent will direct and participate in the long-term development and enhancement of the department's GIS technology to meet the department's mapping and end user service objectives; supervise and perform GIS modeling duties; provide expertise, support, assistance and guidance to ISD staff and external contacts, and perform other related duties as assigned. * Official Title: Business Systems Analyst III For more detailed information, view the Business Systems Analyst III job description. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Some positions require availability for night and swing shifts, weekends, and on-call, including holidays as needed. Minimum Requirements: Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college level coursework in Information Technology, Business Administration, Geographical Information Systems or a closely related field. * -AND-- Experience: Three (3) years of experience performing geographic information systems analysis and one (1) year managing GIS related projects, while leading project staff. Substitution: Each additional one (1) year of qualifying experience may substitute for 15 semester (23 quarter) units of the education requirement. Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience solving technical issues, expert understanding of the Esri GIS platform, advanced knowledge of business analysis tools and methodologies, strong ability to gather business requirements and develop associate functional/technical specifications, ability to perform quality assurance testing strategies, plans, and execution, strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment, strong understanding of the full end-to-end business processes, solid project management and leadership skills, strong problem solving skills, interacting with end users and program developers, and acting in a lead capacity for other technical staff, in addition to providing infrastructure support.
