Hughes has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer- Consumer Network Engineering.
Implement system improvements for HughesNet networks, focusing on system engineering, support, testing and data analytics/mining of satellite based networks.
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrade and migration activity and evaluate compatibility of programs with existing hardware/software features.
Test hardware and software platforms and provide feedback to development engineering.
Generate status reports, provide network anomaly analysis, work on system testing/changes/upgrades, perform maintenance, support, and troubleshooting.
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications or closely related field and 6 months' experience in Systems Engineering, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications or closely related field plus 5 years' experience in Systems Engineering.
Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: 1) TCP/IP; 2) LAN/WAN; 3) Switching and Routing Protocols; 4) Linux and Windows; 5) Satellite Communication Systems; 6) Networking Technologies; 7) Red Hat; 8) VMware; and 9) Knowledge of networking protocols.
