About the job:
The Clock & Timing product line at Texas Instruments is seeking a highly qualified RF Systems engineer to join its Systems & Applications Engineering team. In this position, you will collaborate with RF designers, Marketing, Product and Test engineering teams in developing industry leading differentiated products such as High Performance RF PLLs & Synthesizers and IQ Modulators & Demodulators. This role can be located in either Santa Clara, CA or our Seattle, WA (Federal Way) area office.
Primary and Secondary Responsibilities:
Product Definition: RF PLLs& Synthesizers, IQ Modulators/Demodulators
Developing detailed product specifications based on market and system needs
Engaging effectively with the design engineering team on specification requirements and simulation
Building detailed product and system level validation plans
Owning and driving successful product design-in activity at key customers
Building strong product collateral to enable broad market penetration
Engaging with sales, application engineers and customers to effectively support the successful ramp of the product
Team and People Skills:
This role is heavily external-facing, and the ability to develop strong customer relationships which results in new business opportunity and strategic insight for future product portfolio direction is critical.
The candidate must possess the natural ability to motivate and drive accountability within the team. This role is the product lines direct tie to customer needs this person must be able to translate customer requirements into a business case and product specification and drive the development team to meet the requirements for a successful development and ramp.
Projects and Deliverables:
Drive the product portfolio and roadmap for the RF discrete developments including product specifications, ROI, pricing profiles and working with the team on completing the product kickoff and project plan.
Firmly establish TI as the silicon maker for the RF applications driving significant growth in the Wireless communication, T&M, Space and defense markets
Masters in Electrical Engineering with 5 + years experience Systems or Design experience in RF
Experience working with customers on product specification requirements for RF discrete products
Effective communication skills (written and verbal) are required
Effective relationship building skills (customer and internal) is required
Experience with lab equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, Phase Noise Analyzers and oscilloscopes, along with soldering and basic debugging skills
Understanding and experience using RF modeling/simulation tools for boards and packages
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Related Qualifications
Knowledge of RF PCB design best practices
Simulation of RF PCBs (Hyperlynx, ADS, nWave preferred)
Experience using PCB Layout software (Altium preferred)
Programming and automation skills. Example languages include Python, VBA, Java, etc
Experience in the product development process (Design, Systems, Verification, Test, Ramp)
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
