Position Overview
Citrin Cooperman is seeking an individual to fill the role of Senior Systems Engineer. This individual will plan and design computer systems and operating environments. Participate and/or manage infrastructure related projects. Identify opportunities to maximize the benefit of IT systems and investments. Analyze issues and coordinate with technology vendors as required. Develop capacity plans, performance analysis, disaster recovery, technology plans and strategic roadmaps. They will also design and manage data storage infrastructure according to industry best practices to ensure data integrity and availability and develop policies and procedures to direct storage administration and management and data backup processes. The ideal candidate would have worked in the financial services industry with hands-on experience managing complex MS Windows based infrastructure in a global environment in a public company subject to regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Design and oversee deployment of the company's technical infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT managers and developers in support of system implementations.
Ensure that infrastructure management and administrative practices are in standard compliance.
Adhere to IT disciplines including incident, problem, change, patch, capacity, performance management, etc.
Maintain and operate within IT compliance controls framework.
Identify inefficiencies and develop opportunities for improvements and cost savings.
Document existing IT architecture/infrastructure and technology portfolio.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of systems and develop strategies to further leverage technology.
Develop, document, communicate and enforce technology standards and policies.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts.
Recommend technologies and approaches that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
Develop and recommend strategies for investing in technical infrastructure.
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance.
Collaborate with development staff to define requirements and gain consensus for infrastructure plans.
Review IT projects, systems design, and procurement plans for compliance with architectural standards.
Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to development teams.
Design recovery processes in accordance with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Design process systems for archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of stored data assets.
Maintain knowledge of related trends and issues to reduce risk (i.e. regulatory compliance, privacy, etc.)
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
Microsoft certification is preferred.
Networking certification is preferred.
Storage certification is preferred.
Virtualization certification is preferred.
BS in Technology or related area is required.
Knowledge & Experience
Experience leading and/or participating in technology projects including multiple internal and external parties.
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal.
Highly proficient in the following technologies:

For positions in New York, the salary range is $150,000 - $170,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
