The Systems engineering position will be responsible for providing top-layer support & maintenance to our large infrastructure of media and broadcast systems. The systems engineer will work closely with multiple support teams across all systems and services in a 24/7 live news environment.


  • Manage large infrastructure of media and on-air broadcast systems

  • Perform software installations and maintain system updates

  • Design and implement security systems, perform system backups and monitor health of key systems

  • Track issues through resolution, while communicating with both engineering, management and operational production teams

  • Interface with vendors and manufacturers to research and address support issues, feature requests, create bug reports

  • Provide product and support training as well as develop documentation for both technical and non-technical groups pertaining to media workflows

  • Manage software platforms such as Autodesk Flame & Maya 3D, Adobe Creative Cloud, Maxon C4D, Viz Engine real-time graphics platforms, Telestream Vantage workflows, Deadline Render manager


  • 3+ years of system maintenance experience with proven expertise in media and systems support

  • Administrate & Support Window 10, Windows Server 2012 & 2016 platforms

  • Administrate & Support Redhat and Centos OS platforms

  • Experience in AWS Infrastructure and Cloud services

  • Administrate & Support VM and Virtualized environments

  • Experience with software deployment and centralized system management such as SCCM

  • Experience with Anti-Virus, Networking, and Firewalls

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with modern television production methods and equipment

  • Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization, and escalation

  • Excellent communication skills, with a cool levelheaded approach

  • Ability to clearly communicate actions and/or next steps

  • Strong desire to learn and cross-train in new technologies and passion to maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies

  • Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization, and escalation

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, working independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner

Some flexibility on ours will be required on these days * Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. * Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs * Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. * Monitor and maintain any equipment necessary for live broadcast and production operations- including ISDN, T1/E1, IP Network, signal processing and other systems. * Be a creative problem solver and possess ability to communicate complex principles in non-technical or layman's terms. * Be proactive, dynamic, and flexible in order to solve problems; On-Air, In Person, Telephone/Email Support, Control Room operations. * Maintain expert knowledge and operational skill in digital audio production using in-house software-editing platforms. Currently utilized systems include Avid, Pro Tools, and Adobe. * Update transmitter/shift logs.-Conduct tests and diagnostics evaluations. * Execute checklists to discover equipment and/or system anomalies. * Install new components and systems. * Create and update engineering documents and diagrams. * Maintain a solid working knowledge of digital news broadcasting. You'll need to have: * A Bachelor's degree relevant for Broadcast Engineering, such as in audio engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or telecommunications. * 3 to 5 years of experience in broadcast, live audio production or studio production. * Ability to maintain composure and to work independently (quickly) in high-pressure situations. * Strong knowledge of technical TV and Radio broadcasting equipment (including cameras, robotics, VTRs, routing equipment and production switchers), broadcast automation systems, and streaming and cloud technology. * Thorough understanding of PC hardware and software and networking operations. * Software development skills or experience with scripting languages a plus but not required.
