The Systems Engineering Integration and Test team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer 2/3 based out of San Diego, CA.

What You'll get to Do:

The selected candidate will part of systems engineering team doing System Design Integration; Requirements Development, Management, and Verification; decomposition and flowdown/linkage. And perform System Thread Development, Functional Flow Analysis, and System Performance Analysis on various programs and indirect efforts. He or she should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for coordination and collaboration with diverse engineering design teams

  • Requires systems thinking and working knowledge of the full development life-cycle processes that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Execute Model Based Systems Engineering methods and create SysML/UML artifacts

  • Exhibit strong leadership characteristics in coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks.

This position may be filled as a level 2 or 3.

You'll Bring these Qualifications:

Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and at least 2 years of engineering experience

Level 3: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and at least 5 years of engineering experience

Level 2 and 3:

  • An active DoD Secret to start

  • Experience with requirements development and requirements management

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Prefer Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Engineering Physics.

  • Experiences using the DOORS requirements system

  • Master's Degree

  • Familiarity and experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills. Flexibility to evolving program environments. Candidate's performance directly impacts program success

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. The HALE programs seek a candidate to support the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Avionics team. The VMS Avionics Hardware group is responsible for vehicle guidance, flight control, and management of flight critical hardware consisting of the following VMS subsystems: Flight Control Actuation System (FCAS) and components, Vehicle Management Computer (VMC), Radar Altimeter (RadAlt), Air Data System (ADS), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), and Navigation. He/she will be responsible for system and subsystem design, requirements development and verification, system performance analysis, design of analysis tools, interface definition, software requirements, integration and test including flight test A successful candidate needs Electrical hardware design, development and troubleshooting skills and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and interested to gain knowledge and experience regarding Flight Critical Avionics Integration & Test, real-time system architecture design, network communications, data interface standards (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-232/429/485, etc.), FPGA design, analog/digital/discrete I/O, HW Qualification test support and real-time operating systems. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be capable of communicating with internal/external customer & supplier. Candidate must have an electrical engineering degree. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of engineering experience. * Ability to obtain Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering. * Possessing a Secret Clearance or Interim Secret Clearance.
