The Systems Engineer 1 position is responsible for monitoring and supporting an organization's systems infrastructure. This includes implementation of hardware and software systems, monitoring the performance of systems and managing the deployment of end user equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor ticket system for new requests
Support end users with advanced knowledge worker oriented tickets
Troubleshoot software issues
Provision and maintain the fleet of mobile devices (laptops, phones, tablets)
Help with "walk up" requests
Perform routine monthly walk-throughs at physical office locations
Manage IT inventory, shipping and receiving as needed
Participate in monthly IT unit meetings, training and activities
Provide input on new tools and enhancements for existing tools used to manage the environment
Performs as a liaison between IT and its internal business partners
Partners with other System Engineers in the development of process and procedures
Maintain the proper service levels while completing support work and other functions as needed
Account setup and teardown for new hire and termination requests, provisioning equipment and managing IT inventory
Gathering and reporting monthly performance metrics
Participate in on call rotation schedule
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED)
Proficiency using and supporting the full Microsoft technology stack (client and server operating systems, Office 2016, Office 365), VMware virtualization layer, Cisco IOS, Dell/EqualLogic storage solutions
Advanced knowledge of common network infrastructure
Previous PC, server and software troubleshooting
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in IT/MIS/Computer Science preferred but not required
Industry certifications or commensurate work experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS
Microsoft MTA in IT Infrastructure minimum requirement (MCSA/MCSE a plus) OR working towards the MTA within first 6 months of employment
Industry standard certifications a plus (A+, Network+, etc.)

This is an 8:00 am to 5:00 pm position with after hours on call rotation and possible night/weekend hours depending on work load and projects
