The Micron Technology Mobile Business Unit (MBU) is responsible for the development, marketing and execution of memory products designed for Smartphones. As an MBU Systems Design/Architect Engineer 2 you will work with a team of Engineers and Business professionals in developing highly competitive Managed NAND storage products for the world's leading SmartPhones.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Defines and complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems.

  • Determines system specifications by vetting a variety of sources with cross functional team of engineering and marketing professionals. These sources include customer requirements, competitive analysis, Industry standards, and potential innovations. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.

  • Publish and manage the Technical Requirements Document which contains detail definition of the Managed NAND storage device.

  • Develops and recommends corrective actions.

  • Proactively manage assumptions in the product plan of record and managed changes during product development.

  • Develop crisp and efficient tools for communicating product features, strengths, weaknesses, and development status.


  • Candidates must have a passion for defining world class products.

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Product Definition or Product Design.

  • Candidates with degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering are preferred

but they must have interest in a Technical/Business role as they will often act as liaison between Engineering and Business teams.

  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills as they will be working with both Marketing and Engineering teams to understand customer requirements and balance this with what is achievable by engineering team within cost and schedule boundaries.

  • Experience with business intelligence
