3M is seeking System Control Technician candidates to join our team in Irvine, CA!

  • Pay: $44.94-$45.93 + Shift Premium

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a System Control Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Troubleshoot/repair mechanical equipment and components, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, web handling systems

  • Perform basic machining, pipefitting and millwright tasks, welding, and fabrication tasks as well as preventive maintenance

  • Troubleshoot/diagnose/repair electrical and electronic equipment and components, Maintain/troubleshoot power and distribution systems.

  • Program/troubleshoot using programming devices. Operate a personal computer, Create/modify spreadsheets, databases for historical trending, word processing databases, Load/remove programs.

  • Operate a personal computer to create/modify spreadsheets, data base for historical trending, word processed database, to load/remove programs and to maintain/troubleshoot power and distribution systems.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (complete prior to start).

  • Five (5) years of mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance or related experience, with an emphasis on Process Instrumentation and Control Systems.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekend work, and working holidays as needed.

  • Ability to work either a first, second or third shift depending on shift availability

  • Ability to pass the 3M Maintenance Battery Test with a score of "H" (administered during interview process)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Two-year technical degree or, technical knowledge and practical application skills in mechanical, electrical, or electronics disciplines at a level normally acquired through formal training in two-to-four years of vocational education and/or as part of an established apprenticeship program.

  • Knowledge and skills of mechanical concepts at a level required to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and devices is normally required.

  • Knowledge and skills of Electrical concepts at a level required to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and devices is normally required.

  • Provide and maintain the required quality and quantity of personal hand tools as listed by plant management.

  • Contribute to overall cleanliness and safety of working areas by keeping areas neat and orderly, cleanup of work area at completion of each job. Report unsafe work conditions, practices, or equipment to management immediately.

  • Experience with: Maintenance, Systems, Technician, Electro Mechanic, Mechanic.
